We learned that fibrin makes a cross link (or border) enabling any germs to enter the wounded area, and clots the wound so it can't bleed. After the white blood cells remove germs, the fibroblast cells create collagens that regenerates the layers of skin. During the maturation phase (last phase), the collagen remodels itself by changing types and fully closes the wound.
