This communication was done through a video, a presenter asking questions, answered by a specialist - it was done through an Q&A, whereby the expert broke down the technical concepts in layman language.  WHO used an doctor / expert to instill trust.

I assume WHO has mapped out the communication goals such as: to educate, to advocate, to raise awareness, to build trust, or to be part of a dialogue ... Ensuring that the information is backed by scientific concepts and evidence.
While she tried her best to explain in simplified terms, I feel that if she had used visuals in addition to her spoken presentation it would have been more effective. Also, 5+ min is very long to stay engaged when it comes to scientific concepts. Perhaps it would have been better to break it down in 3 videos / are support with animation/visuals to make it more engaging and memorable. Experts are usually used for communicating on science issues because they are more trusted. 

I understand the questions asked by the journalist are prepared to answer the goals of communication previously identified, starting with the most important information in the first question. The doctor is avoiding jargon, being relatable and sticking to the questions asked. However the video ends up being long.

Because this is recorded, it is easy to share with others to keep them informed and safe from COVID-19.
I liked the closing when the journalist reinforced the reminder for people to stick to science.

So good that a Dr is communicating the information and a communications professional is asking the "burning" questions that it is felt the public are asking as well as those that need to be asked.
I think Bermudan Dr. Ramon Arscott using the analogy and use of hand drawn images of army, police cells, lock-up, capture, villain and different outfits to demonstrate the covid-19 original strain and variants helped me to better picture and understand the virus, how it infects, how the vaccine helps our body to detect and fight it -
