For facilitators: Acknowledge how from their brain templates, KSPs are already practicing “Keeping the Child in Mind”.

Our LC will focus on execution - specific questions to ask, activities to conduct and strategies to help parents "Keep the Child in Mind" too.

2) Addressing the Reality – Struggles and Strategies

Large Group Discussion: Explore the struggles faced during HVs in terms of “Keeping the Child in Mind” and strategies used to address these challenges.

Examples of struggles:

1) How to bring up developmental/environmental/nutritional concerns to parents

2) Empathy – Helping parents see children’s perspectives

3) How to manage conversations - balancing caregiver concerns vs child’s needs

Other types of concerns:

• Parents solely focusing on their own challenges

• Parents who rejects suggestions

• Parents who acknowledge issues but resist change

Each pair will take one HOVRS scale, focus on the rows with 7 points (where relevant) and discuss:

• Come up with reflective questions KSPs can use to help parents consider their child’s perspective.
