1. Use the Life Cycle Graphic to review the stages of the butterfly.

2. Students listen to the digital story read aloud of The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. As the story is playing, stop and discuss the stages of the butterfly represented in the story. Compare and contrast the vocabulary from the graphic and the vocabulary from the story. What is the same and what is different? Which words have similar meanings? How do you know?

Objective 4: Students will develop models to illustrate the life cycle of a butterfly, accurately depicting the stages of development and transitions between each stage.

• Students will be divided into groups of four. Each group member will be responsible for completing one stage of the butterflyś life cycle. Students will construct their models and present them to the class. 

• Students will spend time planning and discussing their group´s designs. When the group is finished with planning they may begin designing their models in Tinkercad.

  
  

• Students may use the rubric provided to help prepare their presentations.
