Why are these interesting, what makes them unique?

I find this really interesting because of how customisable it is, We can basically do whatever we want from choosing our object, how much light we want and etc.

I also find the color really unique and interesting, the deep blue is really nice to look at.

For this we dont need a camera to make this photo.

We have to play around with light and it takes time to make this picture and not just in a click of a button.

Know how long to leave the paper to dry or how long it should be in the sun. Time is a key factor when doing cyanotype is time.

I was supprised on how afterward when we put water onto thepaper how much more vibrant the bkue got.

Find better objects. I feel like i was in a rush to find objects so i kind of just picked whatever and it didnt really turn out as nice as i wanted it to.

I wanted the leaf in the middle to be more see through and really get the details of the leaf but it didnt really turn out like i wanted it. I also put cotton on this paper and i think it made a really nice cloud effect. Lastly the flower looks pretty much like i exepted it

How did you make choices about what to put on your cyanotype paper?

I just went out and found a flower and a leaf. I thought it would look cool because the flower was thin which made more light go through and really capture the details of the flower. Cotton because it was avalible and i just wanted to experiment with it. I also put bubble wrap on it but it barely showed up at all.

Do you think the results matched your intention? How or how not?

Yes and no. I think the cotton was really nice and did match my intentions, making kinda a cloud effect to my paper. The flower really captured details and it look pretty nice on my paper. But the leaf i think i need to choose a better leaf with more detail which i will work on on my next try.

What predictions can you make about the result of your prepared paper?

i predict that the lighter more transparent area of my negative will be more blue than the ones that are darker becuase more light will pass though. i think the hand sculpture i will turn out really well.

What are you hoping will happen with your negative exposure?

What will you do differently for your second found object exposure compared to your first?

Pick better objects and think about how much light will pass though each objects. As well as think for how i position my objects to make it look interesting.

This was my first negative and it did not turn out how i wanted it. Basically nothing showed up on my paper and i think it is because my negative picture was too light which made the sun go though it too much which made the paper turn out nearly fully blue with no details.

My plan on improving on my next negative is to pick better choices on what i put on my negative and make sure the details are clear and dark and have contrast so that the details will apper on my paper more.

I think this one turned out much better than my first one. I really liked the stencil i used in the middle but i think i might have left it out for too long which made the sun seep though which is why its not the cleanest picture. I really liked the differnt types of plants i used and the unique shapes, i think they look really interesting.

Intention

My intention was to make sort of a nature scene with the flower in the middle then leaves coming out of it and at the bottom i put cotton which made a cool "sky" effect.

For next time i want to work on my layout and how i place my objects to make it look more pleasing.

I think i can improve on making better paper, i dont know what im doing wrong but there are always streaks on my paper which i dont like.

I think the paper i used wasnt very good because the blue didnt show up much. I used the preprepared paper for this which is why i think it didnt turn out the way i wanted and for my final ill use my own paper which will hopefuly fix thid problem.

Also this was my first time using the UV light which maybe i did something wrong, but ill try again next class and see how it turns out.
