Black Women have continued to face oppression even after the 19th amendment. One way they have experienced this is through felony disfranchisement, which I did not expect. Through these laws, people who were convicted of crimes lost their right to vote, which targeted the black majority of people in jail.

One new insight I gained from studying women's suffrage is that women with disabilities are especially disenfranchised by having limited access to voting centers, and more. I also previously did not think about how COVID-19 specifically effected women with disabilities, as some are more susceptible to illness than others. It greatly shocked me just how much great underrepresentation that people with disabilties had within our current government.

We can commemorate and pay tribute to the individuals who fought for women's suffrage by continuing to educate ourselves on the long and grueling fight that women from history led in order to gain suffrage, and recognizing their efforts, being concious and aware of this long history and its importance, and spreading these newfound knowledge and facts to others.

Some effective ways to continue promoting women's rights in todays society includes raising public awareness of countries in which women remains disenfranchised through social media, and more. We can sign petitions, write letters to legislators, and participate in campaigns online to promote these causes.

After reading the article, I have gained a deeper understanding of women once being treated as "less of a human" from gender, disabilities, and age. I have found out that back then, people with felony convictions while imprisoned could not have the right to vote.

To pay tribute to the individuals who fought for women's suffrage, we can give recognition of their hard work/dedication or have a dedicated day for their groundbreaking achievement as a community.

From studying women's suffrage, I have had time to reflect upon my own experiences as a woman, and how that has shaped who I am today. I also gained a newfound appreciation for figures such as Alice Paul and Ida B Wells, both of whom I had not heard of before.

I have learned that equal rights movements sprouted from past abolitionist movements, and about Alice Paul's actions to support women's suffrage, which is definitely someone I had no idea about previously.

Having and fostering an active mindset for defending or standing up for the oppressed by promoting this behavior in schools, through posters, etc., we can work towards the promotion for equality for all.

Because of this movement, it expanded opportunities for women to govern and changed the direction of public policy. One lesser-known figure in the women's suffrage movement is Mabel Ping-Hua Lee, a Chinese-American activist. She mobilized the Chinese community in America to support women's right to vote.

Some new insights I gained were that women's suffrage was protested for during the start of the Civil War around the 1840's but this idea was only adopted almost 100 years later. I never really looked into this fact and it was surprising to me. There is also another fact I never considered and it is the fact that specific women groups like trans women, women with disabilities, youths, caregivers, and immigrant women face these difficulties of women suffrage too and this fact gave a broader view and insight for me.

We can also make more special days or weeks in schools to raise awareness of the individuals who fought for women's suffrage.

We can continue promoting women's rights in today's society by mainly creating online platforms or programs specifically for this purpose and spread awareness to others for women's rights promotion. This platform can educate others on women's rights and can help raise money or gain more members for a better and more effective group.

The story of women with disabilities is newer to me. I did not know that disenfranchisement towards them in voting is still prominent today. I agree that voters with disabilities are severely underrepresented. I keep up with news, and feel like I do not see women with disabilities enough on screen, though I know many in person. Furthermore, I have not pondered the impact of COVID-19 on women with disabilities before, so this part stood out to me, "They [women with disabilities] are also far more likely to live in congregate care facilities—which have been ravaged by COVID-19. Though residents of congregate care facilities account for only 1 percent of the U.S. population, 50 percent of all COVID-19-related deaths have occurred in those facilities."

We can commemorate and pay tribute to the individuals who fought for women's suffrage through sharing their names and recalling what they did. Since I like drawing, something I can do is create art to celebrate a woman. I would share the art piece with my community (post on social media, show it in person, etc.) to spread appreciation for what the woman accomplished.

In today's society, it is important to listen to and care about the women in each of our lives, such as our mothers, grandmas, sisters, and more. Some people still hold demeaning stereotypes for women, sometimes subconsciously. Society as a whole should reflect on their expectations for women, and ensure the expectations are kind, realistic, and fair. In promoting women's rights on a national or global level, it is important to take community action, including contacting school district leaders, mayors, and more.

One significant information I gained by reading the article is that disabled females are particularly encountering further disabilities due to their lack of access to public services. The limitation disabled people face within our society is something I never thought of before.

To commemorate the individuals who have strived for these rights, we can continuously educate their efforts and encourage people to participate in exerting their rights.

To effectively continue promoting women's rights in today's society, social media could act as an effective medium to impart this knowledge and raise awareness through public posts.

Before reading this article, I had not considered the arduous process that transgender Americans need to go through in order to update their gender marker and some states don't even allow trans and non-binary citizens to do so. Additionally, some states require transgender people to undergo an expensive gender confirmation surgery to ensure their physical appearance matches the gender they identify as. A lesser-known figure that I found online was Anna Julia Cooper who was an African American educator, author, and activist. She was a proponent of education and political participation to achieve social justice.

We can commemorate and pay tribute to the individuals who fought for women's suffrage by firstly educating ourselves on the history of the movement so that we can better understand the feminists on the frontlines of fighting for more equality. Additionally, although this does not apply to most of the members here, when we do enter the work force, we can also help the movement progress (and respect the valiant efforts of previous women's suffrage supporters) by pointing out any unfair treatment we see toward female coworkers and trying to address the problem; an issue as widespread as this one cannot be solved individually, but an individual can serve as an example for a group of people to follow in the footsteps of.

In addition to my previous point, we can continue promoting women's suffrage by donating to or volunteering in organizations that help the movement toward a more complete women's suffrage such as the League of Women Voters.

By being exposed to more insight into women's suffrage, I have become more aware of the dehumanizing, inequitable treatment women throughout history experienced to receive basic rights and voices for their opinions. However, I also felt inspired by the resilience and persistence that these women held to reach such an impressive point our society has become today.

We could work to pay tribute to the individuals who fought for the rights of women by placing more inclusion of these events and history into textbooks for people around the world to find access to and gain awareness of.

While our society has become very advanced when concerning gender equity, women globally continue to face a lack of appreciation and acknowledgment. Promoting women's rights is extremely necessary to maintain what women through women's suffrage fought to have. We can do this by raising public awareness of the inequality and violence towards women through strong social media platforms, encouraging male-dominant work positions and other unprecedented opportunities for women, and supporting peaceful protests to gain attention toward the rights and opinions of women.
