This was the end of their story. Her time in south Africa had come to a sudden end and just like that they were standing together in front of a crowded transport bus. The moment was intimate and special, something that only they shared. It seemed drawn out and silent, the universe slowing down and waiting just for them, but eventually reality caught up and the time came when there was no more time. They said their final words and he had to walk away. She does the same and takes the first step onto the rumbling bus. Hesitation floods her mind, she looks to him, longing for him to look back and feel the same way. The only thing she sees is the back of his head getting smaller as he walks away. Just as he turned around to see if she was looking, she stepped onto the bus and was engulfed by the closing doors.

I looked up in the dark dark sky seeing thousands of stars. A bright blue flash takes over my sight as a huge spaceship comes hurling out of the sky. I start to sprint across the huge grass field away from my grandfather’s house in hopes that I would get a good look at what this thing is. Colors of all the rainbow are flashing at me as I am running so fast, I felt like I was in the Olympics. My vision started to go blurry, my legs felt like Jell-O, my limp body crashing down onto the cold grass and everything went black.

Aghi Daoust

Legend tells of Music man who saved the seas. He was eight feet tall and carried every instrument known to man, His bag was twice his size. He would travel through forests, over mountains and deserts, through the swamps and oceans and heal the land with his music. when asked how he did it he simply said, “everyone needs a little music”. He was sailing the seas when he came across a man who was all skin and bones and looked like a prune. The fisherman said he hadn't caught anything in days. The music man dove into the sea and saw the fish on the brink of extinction a plaque had corrupted the reefs population. They were barely alive, rotting away becoming a part of the seafloor. The music man was no stranger to healing this wildlife. He opened his bag and began to play. But song after song, instrument after instrument they stayed dead. On the last instrument in his bag, he played with all his heart. The song was finished, and he looked down in desperation. He suddenly saw the fish returning to normal. And then when he looked around it wasn’t just the fish that he fixed he had cleaned the entire ocean.

Playing in the backyard. Sticks and dead leaves cover the forest floor. “Bang” I trip to the ground with a thump. Too much pain comes over my body. I cant see. My eyes covered in blood.“What happened to you?” Mom said as the blood streams down my hands pressed against my shut eyes.“I fell on the sharp sticks in the forest, I cant see!” the blood kept flowing through my fingers.“Oh no, Oliver?”. His mother, instantly worried about his prospective artistic career.Years pass by…Oliver, gripping his guitar, standing before a wide audience murmurs under his breath.“Haha mom, some scars aren't all that bad after all”.

Those three words silently judged me, rolling their eyes at how naïve I was. My eyes stung and my hand clutched the bouquet of flowers I had picked on the way here. The beautiful spring day that had earlier seemed picturesque turned darker and colder around me as I sit on the wooden park bench, waiting. The world seemed to grind to a halt, my earlier anticipation turning into a lump in my throat. Memories of missed dance recitals, science fairs, birthdays, and graduations emerged from the shadows, taunting me as I reread the text one more time. “He’s not coming.”

I freeze up my body not sure how to react to what I'm seeing, a mangled and half consumed body lay behind the clown.

As I look deeply into my computer, I start getting a tingling rush through my body. I suddenly wake up in the unknown. A beautiful space with twinkling lights surrounds my every movement. A space I have always wanted to be in. Whatever I want is given to me at any time. I remember swimming in the ocean with waves crashing against my skin, and this is what I feel. I then think of running on the beautiful, overgrown trails, to suddenly sense that. I understand why this place is magical. Whatever I think becomes reality. But I soon realize I am trapped inside of this unknown place. My happiness becomes fear, and my thoughts go to family, which I can’t see. I never thought I would say this, but I want to go back. Back to normality. Only to realize I am stuck to my thoughts.

We screamed as our feet left the freshly stained dock. We were engulfed by the frothy ocean abyss. Was the risk of the jump worth the approval of my peers? It was too late for 2nd thoughts. I opened my eyes. A yellow blob darted beneath me. I swatted at the flash with a flipper. It shot up through the water. We locked eyes. Out of fear I smiled. The yellow lump of fish approached. I stayed calm. Fish lips were now adhered to my goggles. My ocean greeter turned into my first gilled friend. The once dismal liquid underworld started to show itself as a place worth exploring. My people were in the distance, so I followed, now with excitement leading the journey instead of my fear of being left behind.

When the outbreak happened, I was a lowly street performer clown working from dawn to dusk but this day was different it started like any other people disrespecting me and making fun of my work, but I could not do anything yet. I About 2 hours in my performance when a big wave of zombies came slowly walking around one of the street corners my heart filled with excitement, I grabbed my handy dandy M32 rotary grenade launcher that I use for firing smoke bombs into the air. I started loading it up with HE grenades and started firing it into the screaming crowed of people finally releasing all of my pent up anger against the people of this city.

Deep inside Neuschwanstein Castle the kitchen was hard at work in preparation for King Ludwig’s feast. The chef yelled at the old helper to go and locate some ingredients for the main dish. Alva, the oldest woman in the castle trundled down the steps into the castles cellar. Rifling through shelves and unable to find the required ingredient; she went all the way to the back where she stopped dead. Nailed to the wall dripping In blood was a sign: “Beware of Zombies”

The dark dense foliage engulfed me and my sight as I went deeper into the forest. Finally, after hours of travel they set me down in an unknown place. The taught ropes sawed away at my boney wrists at every movement, and my chest heaved under the weight of my body, no longer strong enough to house my shaky breaths. In attempt to flip over and relieve my front side from the weight, I peel my arm from my blood coated side, the bitter scent of blood wafts into my nose. Above the pounding sound echoing throughout my head, my ears pick up the external sound of them running back ready for round two, to make sure I am unable to move again.

I yawned knowing ill be alone for a while, grabbing a class cup from the cupboard; I poured root beer into, put on a movie, and grabbed some snacks including chips, candy, and a sandwich. After a while from eating, I had to use the bathroom, so I did. Figured since I’m alone might as well make a friend. After using the bathroom, I spaced off in the mirror and as a joke I played rock, paper, scissors with my reflection. “rock, paper, scissors!” we both won obviously. I was bored and lacking motivation so I decided to play once again, “rock, paper, scissors!” my heart dropped.

She pulled and lifted carful of not being burned and set the pot on the open counter. Outside she heard the chattering of the fabric overhang tapping on the hard metal of her tuck. Customers stood waiting, lured by the wafting smell of simmering meat. The line grew increasingly long promoting cold stares from her fellow venders. Soon talk of the tasty food truck reached the crowds of downtown bringing hungry mouths to the flatlands of the fair. The smell of Joe’s Candy Apples enticed the sweet tooths, and Melinda’s fries and chili brought the savory lovers, and as time passed all vendors were overwhelmed with orders. By the end of the night when the fair shut down many thanks were given to Mira and her delicious soup.
