Reason for the War: The Trojan War began after Helen, the Queen of Sparta and wife of a Greek King, was stolen and held hostage in Troy by Paris, the Trojan Prince. In some tellings of the story Helen eloped to Troy with Paris rather than being abducted.
Major Parties Involved: The Major Parties of the Trojan War were the Greeks and the Trojans.
The Trojan Horse Explained: At the end of the Trojan War the Greeks pretended to sail home, leaving behind a large wooden horse as a gift. When the Trojans saw the horse, they brought it into their city to celebrate. The Greeks had secretly hidden inside of the horse. During the night they snuck out of the horse and into the city, destroying it and therefore winning the war.
Outcome of the War: The Greeks won the Trojan War.
Great Heroes of the War: Achilles and Hector are some of the greatest heroes of the Trojan War.
