  • Les obres del Gran Teatre del Liceu van començar l'11 d'abril de 1845 i es va inaugurar el 4 d'abril de 1847.

    • Aquest auditori es plantejava els següents objectius:
    1. Promoure l'ensenyament musical (d'aqui el nom de Liceu)
    2. L'organització de representació esceniques i d'òpera per part dels alumnes.

    • El 14 d'abril de 1861 va haver-hi un atemtat.
    • El  31 de gener de 1994 va haber-hi un segon incendi.
