         <description><![CDATA[<p>Did you know that during the Victorian era, women wore skirts so wide that they sometimes couldn't fit through doorways or sit in carriages? </p><p>Victorian fashion showed how important looks and social status were at the time. The fancy clothes, like tight corsets and big skirts, reflected the rules people followed about how to dress and behave. How you dressed was a way to show your class and where you fit in society.</p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

This practice, called <strong>post-mortem photography</strong>, was a way to remember the departed by posing them as if they were still alive. Sometimes, pupils were even painted on their closed eyelids to create the illusion of wakefulness.</p>]]></description>
