The pipeline goes through certain indian tribes reservations and if an oil leak occurs it can pollute their drinking water stranding them without water for days and days. Indians are of course protesting it for that reason and they see we are ruining the environment that was given to us. Liberals and democrats are big supporters of not building the pipe also. One of those things that they brought about was the danger of animals in that area. Everything breaks eventually they say meaning there will be underground or above ground oil spills from this pipe eventually. Animals in their environment can be threatened by this. A few certain animals are the coyote, otters, and multiple bird species. If it pollutes their drinking water they wont survive.
