DeClue calls for a Black feminist politics that fully includes Black trans and gender-queer embodiments, both sonically and visually. She critiques the limits of "Formation " while acknowledging its potential, urging Black feminist thought to move beyond symbolic gestures toward full and radical inclusivity. The intellectual and political project of Black Trans Studies, then, is not just about representation but about fundamentally rethinking how we understand Black gender, queerness, and womanhood in ways that are life-affirming for all Black people.

-EH
