Not sure I do - but I do know when to stop. For me, spending time with family, especially my great nephews and nieces is the best thing for restoring my equilibrium. I also like to read and learn - so although some would say that isn't really shutting ff, for me it is, especially within a group of like minded professionals. I find the challenge and discussion recharges my batteries.

Instead of having one big to do list (which causes me stress), I allocate tasks to specific times in my planner. I only allocate what I can achieve in that time, and I constantly move tasks and readjust according to priority. It helps to ensure if I've done all my tasks for that day, I can relax!

I have learned to make time for myself to ensure my own personal wellbeing doesn't suffer. I dedicate an hour a day to activities for myself such as exercise or reading and try to work late most nights to free up my time at weekends to spend time with my family.

One night a week I go to Tai Chi, and one night I go to Yoga. And if work doesn't get done because I am out looking after my wellbeing then work doesn't get done. The world doesn't end because I am a day or two late at completing a report. I find that I am far more productive when I am not stressed to breaking point so in the overall picture, time for myself actually makes me a better worker and a much nicer person to be around.
