This scene reflects the power people have if they are united and fight for the same goals. The scene shows a manifestation that fights for women disappearances and murders, trying to get the attention from authorities in order to help them. In fact it shows how people joined together could make a huge change, and raise awareness in a very loud way.

Reflection:

Media in most of the disappearances cases, avoid to publish much information that is very helpful or important to mention to finish with the case or even find the missing person. This is very worrying since we are being lied to and we are living a reality that doesn't exist. Civic participation is of huge importance during these cases since it is a way of putting the government pressure to say the truth and to give the right details and tell the story how it was and not how they change it. As said in the conference, if we join we can make a huge change and if all citizens join together, they can make a better impact and have better results than the government. As Lety Hidalgo said “every person that joins the movement, and every human that shows support, gives us strength for us to keep trying to find the missing ones, and fight for those whose true story is not being told”. Civic participation is of huge help, and has great results, according to Lety Hidalgo they have found about 21 people who have disappeared and have changed their lives. Even though some of these finds were already dead, they changed their whole story and changed the story told by the government. FUNDENL an organization made up of many citizens (civic participation) stays strong and even though the government tried to stop them they stay resilient, and as they said in the conference: “los dejaremos en paz cuando se acaben los casos de personas desaparecidas”. To conclude we all need to be together and everyone of us needs to support the others. If we work together no one can stop us, not even the government.

• In fact both stories relate since both Antoine and Lety want to help people, by awaring people about what is actually happening. In one part Antoine awares about the real failed actions taken by the government, while Lety shows people the reality about the forced disappearances, and all of the information authorities hide. So in conclusion both of them work to help people, and make citizens aware of the reality of their country and representatives.

• There are three ways to participate that suit best to describe Mrs. Lety activism. These are Association because of the organization FUNDENL she is in, and how this organization is helping people to reach for their missing ones; Innovation because she has look for ways to solve the forced disappearances problem, this by making organized searches to find clues and paths to find people that are being searched by their loved ones; to finish Advocacy one of the most important ones, since she has aware a huge amount of people about the seriousness of the matter and some of the actions that should be taken in order to end with the problem. Also she has invited people that are having the same problems finding their missing ones and are looking for solutions. As she said: “todos son aceptados, aquí nos ayudamos mutuamente”. 

How Mrs. Lety Hidalgo's actions and civic participation have created a positive change both for yourself and others? Explain

• I think that this has helped, realising what are the real problems my country Mexico is experimenting with. Also it has created a change in my point of view about forced disappearances, since before I did not cared much about them, but now I am fully in on helping people that need the strength of people to find their lost children. So it has created a very positive change on my feelings and thoughts. 

This Media Coverage in some way takes pressure away from the government since it is only showing that people are looking for their missing ones, and it is not showing how the government isn't helping. The words this coverage is using are omitting a bunch of information and it is not talking about the citizens' side. Even though Ricardo Anaya is showing his help towards this problem, he is helping a very small quantity of people. Even worse, he is part of the political branch of Mexico, and in fact he is dominating the report and he is not living the situation as a citizen who isn't being responded to by the government. He isn't exposing what the real problem is, which is the government's hide of information.

This news article is very objective and exposes government failure and blame about the situation’s outcome. In fact the language used in this article does not omit much details and is in fact a kind of attack toward the government. They are not omitting almost any facts and they are showing all of the government’s participation during this 10 years of the forced disappearance case. No government is dominating this report in fact they are being exposed.  The only thing this article lacks is showing the citizens' side, showing the side of the parents of these kids, and how they have lived in the decade in which their children have been missing. They don't show much of the side of the people who fight because of the disappearance of their kids, that is the only thing this article lacks.

This video exposes the situations of the relatives of people who are victims of forced disappearances, and shows the lack of importance that the government has with their cases. They expose how they are treated by the government and how there are no changes regarding the cases of forced disappearance, they speak 100 percent freely and in some way they attack governments performance on helping with forced disappearances. There are no narratives dominating the report. In fact, people are talking with the truth and real statements. They do not omit any details and even expose how the government has avoided cases because of missed guesses taken by authorities. In conclusion it is a video in which no one is being dominated and there is a good freedom of speech which makes people feel free to say the truth about their relative’s cases.

La desaparición forzada en México existe, a pesar de que algunos la nieguen. TODOS los días ellas viven esta tragedia. El gobierno tiene que ser el primero en involucrarse, a pesar de que ellas no buscan la política, sino a sus hijas e hijos desaparecidos. El primer paso para resolver un problema es actuar y aceptarlo, sí hay desapariciones forzadas y sí son sistemáticas.

Both of them Antoine and Lety have suffer injustice in different ways, Antoine by democracy and Lety by her son disappearance, but both decided to front the problem positively and share their experiences.

Even though her son went missing 14 years ago she is still giving conferences about the issue.

What I can tell is that both want to aware and raíz voice about similar situation, both talk about how government don’t take importance for theirs cases and so Katy problem such as forced disappearance, both want to society and population know about what they face and how difficult is to make justice and to make authorities really do their job and try to find those one that are disappear.

association and advocacy are the ones that related more for me because Lety advocates about forced disappearances and try make people understand and help the problem Mexico is facing and the lack of importance that the government give, also association because of FUNDENL Lety make people associate for a common good and like this people facing this problem could have a place where people help them.

I think that Lety civic participation help me and others to raise awareness about what Mexico is facing with forced disappearances also it help us understand more deeply the problems, also it help by convincing me and others to try and help because we see how is to live a situation like that and I could tell is not good.
