Cristian Espinosa One of the expectations that evolved into a stereotype is the gender-based devaluation of certain university degrees. For instance, the belief that some careers should only be pursued by men, which is clearly reflected in the significant lack of women in fields like engineering, Physics and Mathematics Luisa Fernanda Soto Alian In some families there is still an idea that women must learn the house chores. People think women must cook good food, clean the house, and keep everything in order. But when a man does not learn these things, many people say it is not a problem, because they think his job is to work outside the house. This idea creates a stereotype. It makes people think house chores are only for women, but in reality everyone in the family can learn and help." Maritza Saray Albornoz Cuero "Some common gender stereotypes suggest that men should be strong, independent, and not show their emotions. People often expect men to be leaders, make important decisions, and focus on work or providing for their families. Women, on the other hand, are often expected to be caring, emotional, and responsible for taking care of the home and children. Society sometimes expects women to be polite, gentle, and more focused on their appearance. these ideas are traditional stereotypes. Today, many people believe that men and women can have the same opportunities and choose any role, career, or lifestyle they want.

Luisa Soto

Maritza Albornoz

Cristian Camilo Espinosa

1. Men must be providers / Women must be housewives We believe that a person's value is not defined by their gender. Men should not be pressured to be the only financial support, and women should not be restricted to domestic roles. We all deserve the freedom to choose our own paths.

2. Women do not know how to use construction tools We reject this bias because technical and physical skills are not exclusive to men. We believe that with the right training, anyone can master these tools. Practical ability has no gender.

3. Men should not have long hair We defend the right to personal expression. We believe that a hairstyle does not define a man’s masculinity or his character. We should respect everyone’s style without making unfair judgments.

4. Men do not cry We affirm that expressing emotions is a sign of strength, not weakness. We believe this stereotype is harmful because it forces men to hide their feelings. It is healthy and necessary for everyone to show their emotions.

In our opinion, we think of three stereotypes, the first ir: The male teachers in kindergarten, we disagree with that, because we think that all men can be a kindergarten teacher like a women, they can be soft and nurturing with the children, without problems. The second is a men stereotype, we talk about the dates, between men and women, that the women say that the men always have to pay everything and we don't agree with it. Because we have think, that anyone is in the capacity of paying if you appreciate the other person, it is common for a man to pay for most of the dates, but the women can do it too.
stereotypes

In rural families, the stereotype is often noticeable where the woman is expected to stay in the kitchen while the man is expected to work and earn money. In these contexts, it is also common to see the dominance that men maintain over women. Similarly, a common stereotype about women is that they are too emotional to be good leaders. Some people believe that women cannot make strong or important decisions because they are guided by their feelings. However, this stereotype is not true. Many women around the world are successful leaders in politics, business, and education, showing that women can be strong, intelligent, and capable of making important decisions just like men. In addition, stereotypes about women also appear in other spaces, such as the gym, where some people believe that a woman with big muscles is unattractive or that she must feel attraction to people of the same gender.

Carolina Navarro Posada, Jhojan Arredondo Valencia y Juan Camilo Giraldo Morales
