Though often overlooked, she herself made considerable accomplishments in poetry. In 1924 Bennett taught design, watercolor, and crafts at Howard University.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>was an African-American write who wrote articles for The Crisis.  She eventually left to work on her own work.  She wrote poems, essays, novels and worked as an editor.  Her most influential writings include Plum Bun: A Novel Without a Moral, a novel about a mixed-race girl living in the Harlem Renaissance and her coming of age story, and There is Confusion, a novel that was in direct response to a white man writing about mixed-race life in America, Fauset felt that she was more qualified to write it so she wrote a response to correct stereotypes.</div>]]></description>
