For example in the song he says " Look, if you had, one shot, or one opportunity To seize everything you ever wanted. In one moment Would you capture it, or just let it slip?" Even if he wanted to just give up he still had the motivation to just keep going. In Papers Towns the whole story is about chasing what you want in life and never giving up on your goal. Like when Q decided to try and find where margo was hiding he never thought to just quit.
