Toucan shaped plastic - unfortunately got a bit mouldy while solidifying, probably due to moisture.

- Here's my go at the experiment using red food colour; although it didn't quite soak the colour up.
- It also didn't harden up as much after 72 hours and I wonder why.

here's my rather cool looking mixture and my final product before drying, sadly I think the heat provided wasn't enough as I had to bin the experiment as it went mouldy.
I plan to try again.

Casein's plastic molded hearts

2022-03-15 07:42:49 UTC

I have almost doubled the quantity of milk to fill three little molds. The milk's proteins aggregated, and separated instantaneously from the serum as I've added the vinegar to the heated milk. I didn't have food colour so I added a red talc pigment. So the casein plastic was loaded in bulk. If there is an advise I can give is to apply a lot of pressure on the wet molded shape to get something compact and smooth. The molded shapes were dried overnight on the radiator. The resultant casein plastic was completely dry and very hard.
