The Digital Transitions programme has been designed for young people from Gypsy/Traveller and Roma communities to support digital flexible learning and help with transitions into and beyond education. The programme comprises several elements: Digital Sacks with technology to support flexible learning, a virtual toolkit for ‘anytime, any place’ access to learning resources, and a professional learning programme to improve staff confidence and capacity to facilitate digital learning. As part of the programme, we will conduct a series of evaluation activities which will include gathering feedback from participating staff members and young people. Please read all associated information and consent forms carefully before you or your pupils decide to take part.

These questions can be discussed as a conversation with the young person individually or as a group rather than completing the online form. Or young people could be supported to complete the form. We're also encouraging young people to journal their own use and the benefits of the Digital Sack in their own ways. There is a jotter in the Sack, or if they like digital media then they could create a video or audio blog, poster, Padlet and so forth

Community feedback is vital to the programme and future improvements in education for the Gypsy/Traveller and Roma community.

Please read the participation information sheets and consent forms carefully. Discuss the information with STEP so that you feel confident to share this information with families and either answer questions they may have or contact STEP with their queries.

STEP invites participating teachers to meet with us one-to-one and/or join our workshops to discuss and answer your questions about programme participation, the impact data collection process and ethics.
