Eddie Gomez When someone asks me what motivates me in life, I come up with two answers. The first is the memory of my nephew Arcadio, who died of cancer at the age of sixteen after a four year battle with Ewing's Sarcoma. I raised him and in essence, we grew up together. One of my promises to him was that I would try to live life as best as possible, going forward and always in search of the next adventure. The second thing that motivates me in life is that I want to grow professionally as a food and travel writer. I've been on the road for ten years and it's what makes me happy, but I also want to be successful in financial terms so that that I can help my parents as they get further into old age.

What motivates me in those moments of doubt would have to be my family. My parents worked really hard in life; they endured and overcame tough obstacles for the chance of a better future for their kids. I always bear this in mind; it reminds me to push through when the going gets tough the same way they did for me.

My children are another aspect of my motivation. They are my reason to get up every morning regardless of my physical or mental fatigue. I push myself to my limits for them, but once there, I push myself even more to give a little extra. Doing this every day fulfills my heart with joy, helps keep me mentally strong, and grounded. I know that with this motivation I can reach my personal goals that will allow me to have financial stability. Financial stability will allow me to help my parents in their old age and help my children further their education.

What motivates me in general is my family because they are always pushing me to do my best and make the right choices. They are in my corner everytime no matter what. Another motivating factor is I want to be the first successful one in the family. I want to be the first of all my immediate and distant relatives to receive a bachelors degree. Another motivating factor is my feature family likes kids and wife I would want to give my kids the childhood I never really got to experience because of money problem. The last motivating factor I have may come off as greed but I do find that money is a motivating factor for me. Even now at my current job I work hard everyday and even stay over time just to get my check up .

The thing that motivates me and keeps me going is of one day having the belief in myself and my abilities. Future possibilities of having honed those abilities and prospering along with the people I care about. I have not really ever excelled at much, so when I do see myself doing well at something I tend to get very addicted to doing that one thing and improving it. The thing is that I’m extremely impatient and hypercritical of myself so I give up easily and move on. Also, I tend to doubt myself a lot and my abilities. The thought that I can one day maybe hone my abilities gives me some hope and motivation. I’ve wanted to believe that if I put my mind to something I can achieve if I just stick to it, but never have I really done something long enough to excel at it. And of course, I think it goes to say that for most of us our loved ones motivate us to not only do better for ourselves but for them as well. I couldn’t imagine life without my mother or sister. They make me want to be the man I’m meant to be even more.

Many things motivate me to keep pushing. Its either my self, my mom , or my sister. For the better of my future I needed to push my self more then I ever before, doing things out of my comfort zone. school was never for me I always hated the idea of school but until my sister went back to school her self. She motivated me to give school another try. I noticed how she was so focused on making her future better but not for herself but for her daughter to have a better future. My mom had to work so hard to just pay the bills and buy groceries. She didn't get to go to college or even finish high school. But regardless how long it's been she hasn't been to school she still dedicated her self going back and getting her high school diploma. Some things give me motivation to just keep pushing, I don't care if I hate school, the work is hard, I want it for my future.

What motivates me to get through life is the position of a Captain in the Fire Service. My role model in my life is my Uncle who was also my father figure in my life. He was in the Fire Service serving for Keyes, Oakdale and Stockton fire. Since my Uncle was my father figure in my life becoming a fire fighter has been my dream career since I was 6 years old. The memories being at the fire station motivates me to be there when I am done with college. Even though school is something that I do not find fun, it is a MUST to do to get into the Fire Service and make a career out of it. The motivation to get through school for this career is what helps me get through school. You can not get what you want instantly in this world, you have to work it out and prove that you deserve that position through motivation and dedication. In the end the reason the want to be in the fire service motivates me is from my Uncle who is basically a Dad to me was in it. He took the father role when I needed one and still do because my dad walked out on me. My uncle has put a huge impact on me on my life and this is what drives me to get the position in the Fire Service.

One of the things that motivate me is my family, including my fur babies. I want to provide a house for them one day. I desire a house for all of us to live in comfortably. We are outgrowing my apartment and I picture us in a bigger home. The other thing that motivates is, helping people. I have struggled most of my life and have been through a lot. I want to help as many people as I can in one way or another. I feel that desire to motivate myself, is put in my heart by Jesus. I feel as long as I'm alive, I want to help people. I also want better for my life. I don't want to struggle for the rest of my life. Anything that I do in life, I want it to be done in love, grace, humbleness, passion, empathy and compassion. There is a whole world out there. I want to see it. I also want to make a difference in the lives of my family and others.

One of the things that motivate me is my mother. She has been there for me when I felt disappointed of myself or when I become worried. She has inspired me to do things that fear has not permitted. She believes that when a person thinks he or she has exhausted all of the options they are not looking at all the options. She motivated me to get back up when life hits me hard and tells me that what only matters is how you get back up. She motivates me to become a respectful, caring, and helpful person towards others. Another thing that motivates me is my car. I would like to think that it creates motivation to get up in the morning and go to work. The reason it motivates me is because I would like to buy some parts that would make the car look "clean" so where ever I go I could just turn around and admire it. Driving has been one of the best hobbies that has motivated me to want to go to work and has been also motivated me to think twice before buying.

One motivation that keeps me pushing through would be myself and family. I want to succeed for myself so I can have a better life then the one I am living. Although things have gotten better as I grew up financially as I grew up, there is always room for improvement. I want to succeed for the family to prove I actually did it somehow, if that makes any sense. Another motivation I have is the fear of being left behind by my high school friends. Only a few are actually going to college, and I would not want to be left behind so we can all be successful together. Although my motivations are not as wholesome or heroic as the rest of your reasons, this is what keeps me pushing forward in life. This is what keeps me going despite barely being able to handle math 90 or my other classes, this is what pushes me to the edge and keeps me from not giving up.

What motivates me to keep going everyday is my brothers and myself. I want to keep going and working on myself everyday to better myself. But I get that motivation from my older brothers. Growing up our mom and my dad had to work a lot as we used to live in the Bay Area that is really expensive to live there. All of my siblings and I were homeschooled our whole life and because of that they took care of me when I was little. Unfortunately we don't live that close anymore, but they still motivate me everyday through facetime, phone calls, and text messages. What really gives me motivation is who they are as a person. They have both been through a lot throughout their life. Their parents are divorced and live nine hours apart when they were really young. My brothers took care of my sister and I at a young age, and both struggle with addiction. But my brother Joshua has been sober for almost a year and my brother Mitchell has been clean for six months and are thriving. I have seen their struggle to keep going and take care of their family’, but they are now doing amazing.Whenever I feel like everything is to much I know I can call them anytime and they will help me outKnowing what they have been through and where they are now. Gives me motivation to continue going everyday and to conquer all my dreams.

Some things that motivate me to keep pushing would be my family, especially my mom. They are the reason why I persevere in school and at work. The reason why they motivate me is because, I want to set a good example for my younger siblings to keep studying and go to college. Another reason my siblings motivate me would be because they look up to me and see me as their role model. And the reason I do this for my mom would because, I want to finish something she didn’t get to when she was younger, and that was to finish school. I’ll continue to try and stay motivated, even on days when I don’t feel motivated. Who I fight for as I go through life would be for my mom because, she’s always been the one believing in me since the beginning and I can’t let her down. If i let her down I’d feel bad because i don’t want to be a failure, and that fear of being a failure is what motivates me more to keep trying in my everyday life. Some things that push me back would be receiving bad grades, but I don’t let it affect me because I know I can do better on a future assignment and improve.

What motivates me in life??? A good question, my mom would have to be my biggest motivation. Family and friends are my also some big motivators. My mom is one of the strongest people I know, without her a lot of the things I am doing now would be impossible to imagine. My friends are always there encouraging me to be the best I can be. In moments of doubt I rely on my mother. I fight for my mom all the time. WIthout my mom I would be a loser without my mom.
