Before we start, let’s all agree that what you do matters much more than what you look like. Never forget that, like it or not, you are being judged by how you look, how you dress, and how you carry yourself. Your classmates, your friends and people you meet every day judge you. People will check out how you look, how you dress, how you take care of yourself. Yes, your appearance does matter.

People will very quickly notice your physical fitness, if you dress up, your hair and nails, your suit and shoes, your posture, your eye contact. In any situation where you have only one chance to impress another person, it’s important to stand out to create the best first impression.

I’m not talking about you needing to look like a supermodel to be successful. What I’m talking about is how others feel about how you present yourself. Therefore, putting more thought into your appearance is one of the easiest ways to improve the way people see you. It is part of non-verbal communication. Our appearance is a form of nonverbal communication, and one that speaks very loudly. It is never a bad idea to save up some money so that you can try on clothes that will improve how you look. We don’t always like it, but it can make a big difference to our lives.
