Hi and Assalamualaikum!

My name is Nurul Husna Binti Muhammad Ikhsan Prayatna and I'm 21 years old. In IIUM, I'm pursuing my study in Bachelor of Teaching Arabic as Second Language, currently in my second year of study. Besides studying, I enjoy reading books and sleeping :P

1st Session

Our first session was held in HS Square. Sr. Ainin assigned each of us to draw a picture to describe ourselves. It was really fun yet a great ice breaking to remember each of th Usrah peeps easily.

I drew a mango to describe myself (because I love it sooo much)!

Right after the introduction, Sr. Ainin briefed about the course outline and our first topic was Acquisition of Hikmah from Ibadah. From this topic, I learnt that Ibadah gave us both intellectual and spiritual benefits and it is not solely on performing act of rituals, but gaining insights and meaning of live in this world. Lastly, we were required to form and sit in our assessment group to discuss on the topic and presentation.

2nd Session

In this session, Sr. Ainin shared an interesting topic titled 'Reasons and Sources of Hikmah from Ibadah'. Based on Surah al-Ankabut verse 45, Salah can prevent Muslim from doing bad deeds and wrongdoings. While Zakat can purify one's heart and wealth, doing hajj and umrah can remove sins and poverty.

Then, we sat in our group to illustrate 'Muslim 24/7'. My group illustrated about our daily activity as student while not leaving 5 obligatory prayers and optional prayers such as Tahajud and Dhuha.

4th Session

During this session, we focused on Salah and its virtues. Some of us might struggle in performing Salah perfectly. We did some roleplay on issues during Salah especially about Khusyu' in it. My group acted about laziness to wake up for Fajr prayer, and unable to be Khusyu during Salah due to sleepiness in the morning.

5th Session

We discussed about 'Virtues Found in Sawm' on this session. Sr. Ainin explained about how fasting can give benefit to Muslim. Three things pointed out in this sharing is Sabr, Takrim and Rahmah. Fasting teaches us patience, respecting other human being and being kind and helpful toward others.

6th Session

This session taught us about 'Virtues Found in Zakah and Sadaqah'. My group discussed about social and cultural norms about beggars and poverty. We had some experience on it especially in Malaysia. Malaysians tend to help people especially beggars cause we live in a society that love to help people in need (as Malaysia is an Islam country). Thus, helping people is a norm here. But social media can actually tells about how scammers can use kids or do some beggars activity to collect money for their own sake. Thus, people has been open minded and quite sceptical about funding activity that related to money which it can be suspected as scammers propaganda.

Last Session

This session discussed about 'Virtues Found in Hajj and Umrah'. Hajj and Umrah is a Muslim blessing as it can be their chance to find the real meaning of Ibadah and Tauhid.

I would like to thank Sr. Ainin for her dedication and effort in conducting the Usrah sessions. Your guidance, knowledge, and warmth truly inspire us and make every session meaningful and enriching.

Presentation

To fulfill one of this course's assessment, my group presented a topic on 'Hikmah of Seeking Knowledge'. It was a really fun sharing session. We shared thoughts on our course selection, how it brings benefits in our daily life and future while discussed about technology and knowledge sharing through it.

Big appreciation upon my groupmates for this opportunity to collaborate together. It was a great time to work and share insights together!
