1) The first news article does support the Supreme Court's decision because the title itself shows unity.
The second paragraph is in favor of the Supreme Court's decision because "unanimously" means in agreement to. Therefore, it is in an agreement with the Court's decision.
The third paragraph is in favor of the Court's decision because it claims that, "It will bring to an end a painful disparity...". It also came from Washington D.C.
The fourth section denies the Supreme Court's decision because it claims that there would be blood on the marble steps.
The fifth paragraph remains neutral on the Supreme Court's decision, but in some cases it shows an agreement. This is because it says that people shouldn't be "ill" about the topic.
The sixth section is in agreement with the decision of the Supreme Court because it claims that the Constitution is still a "growing document".
The last paragraph is against the Supreme Court's decision because they feel as though the court may change its mind.
2) Some of the editorials were similar because many showed support for the Court's decision, but in other cases, some disagreed. The reason for the different perspectives is because of how people handled segregation. Some of the articles were for the blacks or to ease in white people towards the change. Other articles stayed with the whites' opinions.

Article 1
The New York Times article "God Chillun" shows their support on the Supreme Courts decision on ending segregation as shown in the title of the article, location of the articles organization, and the substance of the Article. The Articles Title is distinctly named "All Gods Chillun" because it shows that everyone black or white are united under Gods care hinting to their opinion on how segregation isn't the answer because its the opposite of unity. The New York Times organization who wrote the article is located in the northern states of America who predominately has the opinion on equal rights for African Americans therefore it is more likely then not that the New York Times has the same opinion. In their article the New York Times states "Declaration did not intend to say that all men are equally intelligent, equally good or equal in height or weight. They meant to say that all men were, and ought to be equal before law." they are referring to our founding fathers creation of the Declaration of Independence that is the outline of our country that states all men are created equally but not in individual characteristics but individual legal rights. The founding fathers created the constitution which the Supreme Court is designed to deem what is constitutional and what is unconstitutional inferring that the New York times agrees with the Supreme Courts decision because they provided the correlation between the Founding Fathers opinion on segregation
Article 2:

Yes, the civil rights movement is still relevant because some people still socially discriminate against certain people and races. Without the physical law, people would act against others because of their ethnicity, sex or race, not always physical, but verbally. For example, when fighting for all of their rights, blacks do a sit-in at a lunch place. People spit on them and attack them verbally and physically because it is okay to and there is no legal document to stop them. Even with documentation, people still discriminate in private because verbal discrimination cannot always be proved by government officials and secrecy is dominant in the community. In order to ensure actual rights, they had to be fought for and people had to show the whites who they were and why they deserved the rights as stated by Malcolm X .

It is still relevant because there are still black people fighting for their rights. Some white people are treating black people as though they are different. For example, when white people walk past black people or are in an elevator with them, the white people hold on to their belongs as if they were to get jumped. Also, there are still people that make racist comments. An example of that was when a young boy in Florida wrote a racist promposal saying, "If I were black I'd be picking cotton, but I'm white so I'm picking you". This shows how their is still racism in the U.S. and how some people see it as a joke (similar to the Civil Rights movement).

Yes, the civil rights movement of the 50's and 60's is still relevant today. Since then America has made tremendous progress in regards to civil rights. However, today in 2018 discrimination still takes place. In comparison to the sit-ins that African Americans did during the civil rights movements, where no harm was posed to the white people, two black men were recently forced to leave a Starbucks. The sit-ins consisted of African Americans sitting in a restaurant to insist on gaining rights. They did not intend to harm anyone or cause chaos in the restaurant, however white people would result to pouring food and drinks on the protesters. When African Americans were recently kicked out of a Starbucks they hadn't done anything to disturb the business, they were just waiting on someone. In both cases, African Americans were discriminated against on bases of race. We can assume the black men were kicked out for their race because in the same situation a white woman wouldn't have been kicked out.

It may not be as major as not letting schools integrate, but its events like the Starbucks incident still happen. If that was racism is up to the viewers choice. Some may reason that there is no more racism in the workforce or in any aspect of being social, but there still is because people have their own views. Racism is an on going event that people still have to fight against, it isn't as a big thing now but overall equality is important. Equality will be met but it can never be fully accepted because people are allowed to hate.

Eisenhower compares our actions to African-Americans to communist countries because communist countries disavow human rights for the sake of societal gain.
Yes, I believe the Civil Rights movement still has relevance today. Discrimination and racism is still an occurring problem today , for example the Starbucks issue. African Americans are still struggling today to get treated equally to whites.

Every once and awhile there are some events of racism even though they are no where near the extremeness of things that happened back in the 50's and 60's, but unwritten moral rights are still yet to be followed by some people in the United States.

Yes, it is still relevant today because off how people are still being treated. There are still examples today showing blatant racism. There is a news story that talks about how 2 black boys where just sitting in a Starbucks and had the police get called on them for doing nothing. This is showing how there is still a lot of factors from the 1950's and 60's. While the civil rights movement helped a lot for black rights it will most likely never make racism go away.

No, because racism isn't prevalent in western society today than what it was in the 1950's and 1960's. Everyone no matter what race or gender has an equal opportunity according to the Constitutions and the set of laws enforced in America. Not only laws but as a society we give and treat people on character not race. This is self evident in the Starbucks video where two young black men were loitering in Starbucks and refused to leave when asked. The Starbucks manager who called the police on the loitering black men was ostracized by the media and condemned as being a "racist." We know she isn't a racist because in the 911 call/local police she was very polite referring two the black men as "gentlemen" not even involving race which is expected for a good moral citizen. This can be inferred that she called the police on the accounts of loitering and not based offa ill racist intention. The young black men could've bought a 1 dollar item like a pack a gum and this wouldn't have ever happened especially if they were loitering and wanting to use a bathroom with a key for paying customers. This instance of "racism" was treated with all 8,000 Starbucks being shutdown for a short time for all customers being taught how to handle situations when a customer is colored. (Personally I think that's absurd to differentiate a customer based off race when we should treat any person the same and differentiate off character. The manger was unfortunately fired for handling the situation poorly. This is evidence because racist behaviors like this one were condemned and dealt according by majority of our society leading to the only prevalent racism are minor occurrences which all races have to deal with. The 1950 and 1960 protests were used for a society that was ruled under Jim crow where racism was accept by the majority of society and didn't condemn racist behaviors. The protests should be taught and remembered as history (which it is) and become relevant if an outrage of racism ever occurs again.
911 Call -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFRP7QwlIH0&t=141s

Both of these events had many harsh actions when people were trying to mkae things work
