This legislation guaranteed all students regardless of disability the right to an education in public schools.  In 1990, it was revised, and became the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). There were later more revisions and amendments in 1997 and 2004.

This case ruled that tracking systems for students were unconstitutional.  Students were separated using standard aptitude tests, which were culturally biased.
