MyUniNet portal symbolises the cooperation and smart partnership between PERPUN members. The creation of the portal demonstrates PERPUN's dedication to offering scholarly information resources through a single access. The portal provides access to MyTO, which provides a list of all public and some private university libraries' theses collections, and MyULIS, which includes a list of all serial publications to which the libraries have subscribed. One resource to turn to for information and materials through interlibrary lending services is MyULIS (ILL). Two Special Interest Groups (SIG) which is Malaysian Information System Librarians (MySyL) and Malaysian Online E-Resources Consortium are involved in the design and implementation of the MyUniNet Portal (MOLEC). These two SIG members are in charge of the MyUniNet portal's content.

 BERNAMA’s role as a source of reliable and current news is well known among the local and international media. Through the BERNAMA Newswire, BERNAMA creates and distributes news and information. In Malaysia, universities, government organisations, private businesses, broadcast stations, websites, electronic media, and international news agencies are among the organisations that charge customers. BERNAMA now offers new options for reaching the general public directly with news and information services advent of the Internet. This is accomplished through both its own websites and other websites. Additionally, BERNAMA provides value-added news services for online business owners who manage their own websites. 

The quality of BERNAMA's products and services, which include real-time financial information, real-time news, an electronic library, the distribution of press releases, event management, and photo and video footage, is continuously improved through research. Our two main collections are more than 5 million news and information items concerning Malaysia and reading materials from the ILMU library system. BERNAMA News is divided into the following categories: General News, Economic News, Features/Special Reports, Press Releases, Infographic, and Advertorial. It also includes news, reports, articles, special reports, and news focus/analysis. InfoLibNews archives local newspaper news, which is accessible through the Archival News Module, for archival purposes and to provide more options for news sources. The Who's Who Module, a collection of profiles of significant Malaysian figures from numerous sectors, contains information. A data bank is a collection of facts on many topics and events. Both modules get data from legitimate sources such as Malaysian newspapers, BERNAMA's wire reports, and other books and websites.

Additionally, MyUniNet is using the service partnership which is using one of the Sinclair model. The partnership has provided links to the MyTO and MyULIS and made available to PERPUN members. 

The News Library & Information Centre (InfoLibNews) of BERNAMA is a library specializing in news and information about Malaysia. The users of InfoLibNews are mainly the BERNAMA staff and the BERNAMA Library and InfoLink Service (BLIS) clients from the various government and private organization libraries. Next, users can subscribe a module they preferred with a minimum fee RM3600 per year and One (1) year subscription period.

BLIS (BERNAMA LIBRARY & INFOLINK SERVICE)
BLIS operates as an electronic library with easy global access and this makes it an ideal source for news and information about Malaysia. BLIS consists of 12 modules that work as product or services which are named:

a) Implementation Timeline

From fiscal year 2019 through fiscal year 2023, the Library of Congress will follow a staged, five-year strategy to put its own strategic goals and objectives into action. The strategy of the company will be brought to life in the Directional Plans that the organisational units will prepare in order to identify and prioritise the most important projects. The Directional Plans will determine the office's overall direction as well as the operational objectives, and they will fit with the Strategic Plan. They will discuss the steps that each division is doing to monitor their progress toward the agency's goal and, eventually, to put it into action.

b) Performance Measurement

Regular review and improvement are important components to a successful strategic plan execution. A robust performance management plan will also be developed by leadership as part of the process of producing the Implementation Roadmap. This plan will be used to monitor progress in relation to the objectives. Each aim outlined in the Strategic Plan will be accompanied by a corresponding set of performance metrics. They will be monitored, reported on, and reevaluated or given an update once a year, despite the fact that progress will be recorded more regularly, depending on the situation.

Communicating Results

Regular updates on the execution of the Strategic Plan will be provided by the Library, detailing both its progress and the outcomes of its efforts. The employees will be informed on the progress made and the outcomes obtained through the intranet, the Gazette, meetings, open staff forums, and other venues. This information will be provided to Congress and other external stakeholders on an annual basis.

Beyond 2023

Every year, the Library of Congress will conduct a review of their strategic priorities, which will include a discussion of their goals, objectives, measurements, and activities. In order to establish how they will approach planning for the years 2024 and beyond, the leadership of the library will get together to discuss and assess how well the Strategic Plan and Implementation Roadmap worked out for them.

 

A well known relations between UNESCO and other bodies can be seen through the partnership of University Of United Nation (UNU) and UNESCO. It is to be said that there are multiple of ways of how the relations happen, such ways to be known are:

         I.            The 13 members of the UNU council are appointed mutually by the UN Secretary-General and by the Director-General of UNESCO

  
  II.     The director-General of UNESCO is an ex officio member of the UNU council

   
  III.            The UNU council reports straight and annually to the Executive Board of the UNESCO, within the UN Secretary General and Director-General of UNESCO, mutually, on the work done in the UNU.

 

Upholding their name and ambassador of world cultural heritage, The first merit of the first step is of course making and preserving the world heritage sites. The first known instance that can be tracked upon the needs for declaring is in 1959, as Egypt requires the assistance of The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to shelter and safekeep the monuments and sites that are in presence of a threat. Since then, countries around the globe has added significant sites in their respective countries to be recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage sites. Currently, there are 878 heritages sites around the world. How does UNESCO merits and verified these proclaimed heritage sites as certified one by UNESCO? According to UNESCO itself, there are ten ways the sites will be verified by the field officer of the UNESCO, in which the ten verification are, 

         i.            Represents a masterpiece of human creative genius and cultural significance.

       ii.            Exhibits an important interchange of human values, over a span of time, or within a cultural area of the world, on developments in architecture or technology, monumental arts, town-planning, or landscape design.

   
  iii.            To bear a unique or at least exceptional 
testimony to a cultural tradition or to a civilization which is living or which has disappeared.

   
  iv.            Is an outstanding example of a type of building, architectural, or technological ensemble or landscape which illustrates a significant stage in human history.

 
      v.            Is an outstanding example of a traditional human settlement, land-use, or sea-use which is representative of a culture, or human interaction with the environment especially when it has become vulnerable under the impact of irreversible change

 
    vi.            Is directly or tangibly associated with events or living traditions, with ideas, or with beliefs, with artistic and literary works of outstanding universal significance.

 
   vii.            Contains superlative natural phenomena or areas of exceptional beauty and aesthetic importance.

  viii.            Is an outstanding example representing major stages of Earth’s history, including the record of life, significant ongoing geological processes in the development of landforms, or significant geomorphic or physiographic features.

    
  ix.            Is an outstanding example representing significant ongoing ecological and biological processes in the evolution and development of terrestrial, freshwater, coastal and marine ecosystems, and communities of plants and animals.

     
  x.            Contains the most important and significant natural habitats for in-situ conservation of biological diversity, including those containing threatened species of outstanding universal value from the point of view of science or conservation.

 

UNESCO also provide the product of information tools, no other than to help and facilitates the growth of information about the organization. The required tools were created and designed to makes any tasks pertaining to the organization contribution and efforts that were recorded accessible from even the tip of our fingers.

1.       UNESDOC Database

Ø  UNESDOC Database is full library that is filled  with full text and bibliographic records of documents and publications that is available in six official language ( Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Hindi, Spanish) published by UNESCO for as long as 1945 as well as bibliographic records of library procurement.

2.       CDS/ISIS

Ø  Global information storage and retrieval system. 

3.       IDAMS

Ø  Software package for handing and analyzing numerical data. It offers an impressive numbers of data manipulation and validation facilities and a wide range  of classical and advance statistical technique.

4.       IDIS

Ø  A tool for direct data exchange between CDS/ISIS and IDAMS

5.       Knowledge and training for information processing tools

Ø  The tools that were previously mentioned act not just as a way of referring to the UNESCO efforts and previous works, it is also a way of making sure any users that are interested regarding UNESCO can easily access the tools that were provided and make proper use of the tools. With the tools being a major part of the exponential growth of interest, the access towards the information becomes a much more important task for the organization.

 

 II.  Symbolize the importance of civilization

UNESCO main force of recognizing historical sites and ensure proper care of the sites is also a main benefit that will be shown towards the access to information. This is consider factual due to the nature of the information itself, in which it is a stimuli with a context within it. It relates to the works of UNESCO because, with the sites being recognized by the organization , it will be added onto the list, and general people will also acclaimed that the sites will be important, and the information pertaining to site will increased. Access towards more information regarding the sites will expands, and many more will reap the harvest of the works 

 

UNESCO and Sustainable Development Goals is define as a project that were meant to enhance and mend any problems that the world revolve in such as a program that is sustainable, universal and ambitious development. A program of the people, for the people, regarded by the participation of UNESCO. The main focus of the SDG varies, throughout the needs in education, Natural Science, Social and Human Science, Culture, Communication and Information and sustainable development goals for ocean. Notice how every aspects of the goals that were covered revolves around the needs and demands of the world, and how, UNESCO as an organization that were actively involved in the global affairs of any global issues, has partaking in the project that were meant for the future of our world. According to the digital magazine produce by the UNESCO, the two global priorities of UNESCO, as in for the context of the work in the present, is the focus on gender equality and Africa.

2.7.a) gender equality

UNESCO understand and prioritize the empowerment of women and girls in its two global priorities. This can be seen by the efforts of promoting women in science, specifically in the decision making level, promoting safe access to women and children in acquiring drinking water and adequate sanitization, promoting women as agents of social transformations, promoting the full participation of women in cultural life, and introducing the prospect of ICT to women and children. UNESCO also assist countries in mainstreaming gender equality across all of the SGD’s,  with the collection of sex- disaggregated data. The guidance for advancing the gender equality and empowerment of women in every aspects of UNESCO field is also provided for a full equality measure. 

 

2.7 (b): Africa

UNESCO’s Operational Strategy For Priority Africa is paralleled with the Agenda For Sustainable Development, which by the way its operate, translate more into the  2063 Agenda Of the African Union. The Common African Position (CAP) upholds its six pillars in which it is about structural economic transformation and inclusive growth, science, technology and innovation, people- centered development, environmental sustainability, natural resource management and disaster risk management, peace and security, and finance and partnership, which are all parts of the SDG. 

The strategic configuration will helps UNESCO in achieving and increasing the scope of its feat, in and for Africa and to improve the commitment of its sectors, instituted and specialized networks, as well as mobilization of external actors, therefore the contribution of strategic and financial partners. Africa is an important aspect towards the realization of the 2030 Agenda, which promotes South-South and North- South- South support, both regionally and worldwide.

 

As we grow exponentially in terms of information and resources, the outline over how the future version of us has to cooperate and systematically provides a solution for any problems that might resides in the future, and plaguing the present is in the constant need ever as now. With that problem in mind, UNESCO has proposed and begun its plan of the 2030 Agenda, the framework that were meant  for development cooperation over the next coming years. It was constructed as a reference for  all new national development strategies and plans. It was a plan that were presented by the UN and it is up to the UN specialized organization such as UNESCO to carries over the plan and ensuring the success of it for the betterment of humankind. It will also act as a follow up in continuing  to play as an active role and review processes at the global levels, and as appropriate, at the regional and international level. 

UNESCO is implanting the principles of the 2030 Agenda into all of its programmes:

a) Sustainable development

The first and foremost of the programmes mentioned is the sustainable development in which it is about the changing the world onto a sustainable and resilient path. UNESCO is first in line in making sure this transformative change, through its work to make ensure that all apprentices have the skills and knowledge they requires, in order to transforms into the responsible, green ,global citizens to advance science, technology and innovation for the development of sustainable solutions to mitigate and adapt to global change, such as the climate. 

b) Universally and Interdependence

the 2030 Agenda is considerably a universal agenda, reflecting upon a changing world and a new appreciation for the growing complexity and interrelation of development challenges, and how different is from before, trying to extend the resolution for the manner in which the problem must be combatted, reaching beyond borders, which need to be addressed in an integrated, coordinated and coherent manner; it highlights that developed countries can no longer achieve sustainable development without commensurate progress in developing countries and vice versa.

c) Inclusivity (no one shall be left behind)

the new Agenda is profoundly committed to inclusivity (“leaving no-one behind”), including ending poverty in all its forms and reducing poverty within and between countries; it requires giving highest priority to support the proper program that is being run and those in conflict and other special development situations.

d) Rights-based

the 2030 Agenda is a rights-based agenda, which pledges to realizing the human rights of all and mainstreaming gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls across all of the Goals and targets; it places importance on the role of support to policy and standardizing work for the achievement of the 2030 Agenda.

e) Inequalities

the 2030 Agenda recognizes the importance of tackling rising inequalities. UNESCO supports countries in addressing inequalities through its work to encourage quality, inclusive education for all; narrow the science and knowledge disparities between and within countries; close the digital divide; and develop inclusive public policies that promote social inclusion and intercultural dialogue. The UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) also collects and shares disaggregated data related to the Organization’s areas of expertise.

f) National Ownership:

the 2030 Agenda is first and foremost about the national ownership of the Sustainable Development Goals, which are incorporated into national planning procedures, policies and strategies. Supporting national ownership of the SDGs will be a fundamental task for UNESCO. In doing so, UNESCO will adapt its support to the specific and diversified needs of its Member States, taking into account the increased diversification of the capacity of Member States, in particular in emerging Middle Income Countries (MICs).

g) Integration and interlinkage:

the 2030 Agenda recognizes that sustainable development strategies should respond in an joined manner to the complex challenges of today. UNESCO is approaching the execution of the 2030 Agenda in an integrated manner across all its areas of competence (education, natural sciences, social and human sciences, culture, communication and information), capitalizing on its multidisciplinary expertise and intersectoral directive. It is also taking an integrated approach across its modalities of work by more closely interlinking its normative and country-level operational work and supporting closer integration across the pillars of the United Nations work, including the recent push for stronger humanitarian-development linkages.

h) peace, intercultural understanding, and global citizenship:

Perilously for UNESCO, the 2030 Agenda recognizes that “sustainable development cannot be achieved without amity and security” and commits to intercultural understanding, mutual admiration, and “an ethic of global citizenship and shared responsibility”. Under SDGA 16, it commits the international community to preventing all forms of violence and to promoting peaceful, just and inclusive societies free from fear and viciousness, with accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.

i)  Crisis, Conflicts, and Disaster

the Agenda stresses the need to pay greater consideration to the special needs of the countries which are in conflict and crisis situations - 33 of todays 49 least-developed countries, with a population of almost 900 million - and to address the protracted nature of crises in many humanitarian and conflict-affected settings, as well as costructing the resilience of the poor and of those in vulnerable situations, by reducing their exposure and liability to climate-related extreme events. It is committed to linking the humanitarian-development divide.

j) Knowledge, Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI)

the new Agenda recognizes the importance of fully harnessing STI and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for sustainable development, as well as the need to shape human capacity, skills and knowledge, including through eminence education for all throughout life; STI, access to information, and the provision of quality data across all goals.

k) Multi-stakeholder Partnerships:

the 2030 Agenda has placed a distinct premium on partnerships and on integration and integrated methods. UNESCO will play a significant role in its domains as the convener, broker, organizer, and implementer of multi-stakeholder partnerships in support of the 2030 Agenda, and it will also support South-South and North-South-South cooperation to implement the SDGs. Similarly, UNESCO is also pursuing the expansion of a structured financing dialogue, which should also help in originating multi-partner approaches.

Every members of the UNESCO must also understand the core of the fundamental of the organization, that is to contribute to the establishment of a culture and peace, the extermination of poverty and sustainable development and intercultural dialogue through education, science, culture, communication and information among many others. The implementation is not an easy task, any if not, multiple of instances can hinder the progress of UNESCO in accomplishing their goals. That is when the members must join in hands and partake in any initiatives done by the organization, not just for the sake of harmony and safekeeping, but to also shown togetherness that humanity long stood for. 

As a commoner, it is indeed baffling or rather confusing over how can we partake in the efforts of the UNESCO. Some of the goals might seems to far in the future, and others might think that the project proposed by the organization is just an empty words, filled with promises yet none were attainable. It is indeed a rather extravagant goals but one must keep in mind that the organization purpose are no others than to helps humanity in prolonging our existence here on earth. Our cynicisms are bred through the constant hate and multiple of conflicts, and any efforts for the greater good is just a castle in the air. This mindset needed to be reverted, and UNESCO are working hard to ensure that we do actually have a chance in the future. All of these efforts and goals is essential, it does not just falls to the hand of the leaders of the countries, but also the people that are in the countries. The sites that were renowned as historical sites once hold its measure than just a historical sites, but the advancement of civilization foresaw the built, a bridge of past and current civilization, and the efforts by UNESCO is the reason the gap is still narrows. As things stand. Perhaps it is the time to actually recognize the attempt by UNESCO in the preservation of the human culture. If not for ourselves, do it for others.

UNESCO, based on its real name which is The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization we can tell how can this agency should work in the progress of their existence to world and humanity, and also the function it shows that can give the impact positively in every aspect just like the meaning of UNESCO name that has on it whether beneficial toward every nation that has on this world, education, scientific and culture. The truth is what is the function of UNESCO been founded to this world in the meantime of its existence. UNESCO has a lot of functions it has on this and one of the functions of its existence is to help the development of education around the world to build a civilization that value and is interested in the knowledge and the information of this world. The reason they want to spread the access of knowledge around the world is because they believe that if the whole world can gain the access of knowledge for the purpose of education without exception, it can help us to shape peaceful, just and sustainable futures for humanity and the planet. Next, the function of the UNESCO creation is to help the world advancement of science. The reason is to help the research, creation of technologies and innovation advancement, it is because it can help humanity to learn and the greater good in many various fields, the example of achievement they gain is the development tsunami early warning systems, the research they do to build this innovation really help the world because safety for humanity is increased and there still a lot of scientific research and the innovation that been done to help the humanity in many aspects of advancement. Other than that, conserving and preserving the world is part of the function of UNESCO. By the mean of conserving and preserving the world, this organization try to maintain the peace of every nation by conducting the import ethics which free from war to every UNESCO member, this is the main organization purpose of its development for not repeating the mistake that happens in past which is the bloody event a world war. Other that than, conserving and preserving is also to establish universal principles for scientific ethics and the human genome, and protected the best that humanity example saves the historical site like the temples of ancient Egypt (pyramid), saved from rising waters, rebuilt after the war, and revived as a symbol of peace.
