When you reach me was written by Rebecca Stead who also wrote first light, and liar and spy. When you reach me won the Newbery yearly award, it was published in 2009 and was quoted “smart and mesmerizing” by New York Times book review. When you reach me takes place in the west side of New York during 1978 through 1979 about a girl named Miranda the story is science fiction and realistic fiction.
