the theme of the book is acceptance / fitting in. i think this because he wants to try to be friends with a old classmate, but he fails and just wants to fit in with him. in the middle its acceptance because freak eventually accepts friendship with max. and at the end acceptance is theme because he has to accept freaks death ;(

I think one of the big ideas the author wanted the readers to learn was mostly throughout the book, was friendship. First the author wanted to teach us the theme to treat others the way you want to be treated, Anther theme could be and true friends never leave your side. this makes me think that although freak and mighty may be the complete opposite, they pair up as pretty god friends. overall the theme in this book could be life isn't always fair and People may die, but never really leave you.

I think the big idea of the story Freak. The... MIGHTY is WORKING TOGETHER IS BETTER THAN WORKING ALONE!!!

First, the author wanted to teach us that working as a team s better than working alone. This is because as Max says, "I never had a brain until Freak came along." This means Max could interact with people better and listen better.
