In 1609 Hudson explored the Hudson river on his third voyage. As a result hundreds of years of trading and transportation was born. In 1610-11 Hudson spent months drifting through the vast Hudson Bay. In 1611 Hudson was mutinied by his crew. This led to Hudson and some of his crew members dieing. Hudson encouraged other explorers and settlers to make their way to North America. An effect of this was the Dutch starting a new colony called the New Amsterdam at the mouth at the mouth of the Hudson River in 1625. Then in 1664 New Amsterdam becomes New York. Because Hudson found the Hudson River the English found a successful place to trade furs, and so the Hudson's Bay Company was founded in 1668. This led to the East Indian trading company taking over the trade posts.

Henry Hudson discovered the Hudson River, as a result it led to hundreds of years of transportation and trading. His first voyage started in 1609, but due to ice, he hat to turn back twice. In 1609, he joined the Dutch East Indian Company as a commander and set sail for a 3rd voyage. While crossing the Atlantic Ocean, Hudson and his crew found land. as a result to this new land, they met local natives and were able to trade. on Hudson's way back, his ship was seized and the men on it also. Due to this, Hudson was no longer allowed to sail with the Dutch East Indian Company. Finally, in the April of 1610, Hudson left for a 4th and final voyage. He and his crew made their way across the Atlantic Ocean. After skirting the southern tip of Greenland, they entered in what is now called the Hudson Strait. The exploration then reached another of his namesakes, the Hudson Bay. While traveling south, Hudson ventured into James Bay and discovered he had come to a dead end. They found themselves stuck on ice and low on supplies. As a result, they had to spend the winter there. By 1611, the conditions were better, and the ship was able to sail. But Hudson wanted to stay. That effected Hudson's chance of surviving. His crew mates mutinied him because of his decision. His son and several others were left behind. In order to scientists, Hudson is told to have died a bit later of exposure. This is how Henry Hudson lived.

Henry Hudson was trying to find a path to Asia going North West. Since he was hired by the Dutch East Company on March 25 1609, he found a river from New York to Vermont. Which then lead to the St Lawrence river. As a result it lead to hundreds of years of trading.

The first major trade was beaver pelts. It was because they were used as coats and hats. They were so important because the woman used to wear those and the beavers wiped out on their land. On account of the beaver skin, it had two layers so it would be extra warm. So that;s why they were popular to trade.
