Antoine Lavoisier thought Sulfur was an element but in 1808, Humphry Davy convinced him sulfur contained hydrogen. Louis-Josef Gay-Lussac and Louis-Jacques Thénard proved it did not contain hydrogen and Davy agreed. Sulfur got its name from either sanskrit 'sulvere' or 'sulfurium' &nbsp;</div>]]></description>
