         <description><![CDATA[<div>I would still participate (and have already) because I am a very curious person that would love to learn the information gained from these companies. Additionally, I feel like in our age of technology we do not have much privacy anyways so might as well learn more about my ancestry if privacy is already a risk anyways. </div>]]></description>

It doesn’t seem like the privacy of participants who upload their data onto their website is a priority. Privacy concerns outweigh the service that GEDmatch provides. </div>]]></description>

I think that based on these papers and presentation, I wouldn’t necessarily want to participate in a database such as GEDmatch because of their phase-unaware detection methods, so I might use a different one, such as 23&amp;me but not in order to find relatives.</div>]]></description>

Also just being honest with customers up front of the possibility of data breach. If I had a budget to worry about I’d have to choose the cheapest but most reliable method. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I’d ensure only our own DTC data, straight from the spit tube, to the lab, to the computer, ends up in our databases. You can’t put fake DNA into the spit tube, the lab would probably return some weird failed result. Then, I’d only allow internal company access to the database. Don’t allow the typical customer to see the exact genotypes or segments of chromosomes where they could be related to people, just report that they seem to be related to person X.</div>]]></description>
