The Battle of Berlin was one of the last major offenses of WWII. The battle occurred between April 16, 1945, and May 2, 1945. The battle was between the USSR and Germany. Soviet troops attacked Berlin with the intent of taking the city. And after two weeks of battle, they successfully took the city. In the process of taking the city, the Soviet army lost 80,000 troops. Germany lost at least 92,000 troops, and over 300,000 civilians died. One major tactic used to take the city was that the Soviet army surrounded the city and all troops attacked simultaneously. This allowed them to win the battle and put an end to WWII.
