The hardest part about working virtually for me is the unrestricted access to snacks that I have at home. It's way too easy to grab a bag of Cheetos or Doritos while I'm working, and then I realize I've eaten half of the bag and feel a bit sick. The other issue I have with working at home is that it's harder to set boundaries between work and home life. However, it is much easier to get things done and lecturing in PJ's is more comfortable than getting dressed and going into the studio.

I tend to be an early bird. For years my wife has gotten up at 4:30a to get to the gym for spin classes at 5am. I usually get up then and either go to the gym for an hour, or use the two or so quiet hours before my kids get up to get some work done. Or if I don't have any work to do (a rare occurrence!) I'll fire up the computer and play Beat Saber or Half-Life: Alyx on the VR for awhile, since that's the only time my teenage son is not on the computer.

I'm a late-comer, but I binged Game of Thrones over the winter break. It was a good show, and at the end my favorite character was Arya Stark, who turned out to be a real badass. I also finished Westworld, Season 4 of Wynonna Earp, Season 2 of The Witcher, Wheel of Time Season 1, and Cowboy Bebop.

Being a professor at CSU is my dream job, although I didn't realize it until I got here. I'm surrounded by supportive colleagues, I ahve awesome students (such as y'all) that I get to teach and learn from, and I get to do the science that I want to do, not what anyone else wants me to do. I can't really imagine wanting to do anything else.

However, I am able to work full time and do this program which makes it easier for me to balance my life and my expenses.

I think the hardest part about working virtually for me is being in the same place all day long. I miss walking around a campus and going class to class. I feel the need to get up from my desk alot to move around. With that being said I am going to try to go to coffee shops or the library more this semester to get out of the house. The best part/easiest part of virtual learning to me is that the lectures are recorded so although I plan to attend synchronously this semester, if I need to make a doctors appointment or have something else I NEED to get done I have much more flexibility to still get my work done.

I think working virtually is tough in several different aspects. For me, I am most productive when I am in person and have people around me to push me and communicate with. Staying home all day and never moving is tough to stay motivated. I also learn best in in-person class lectures because it is easier to pay attention as there are less things around me to get distracted with - my dog, my cravings, seeing a dirty spot on my floor... I definitely miss being in class with classmates and being able to communicate in person, too, although I do enjoy a lot about being remote, too. It has its perks, too, like Brian said, you can't beat class and work in your PJs :)

I think the hardest part of working virtually for me is the worry and stress of the internet going down as I work on an assignment and try to turn it in. I have found myself checking multiple times to make sure that something was actually turned in once I submitted it. I got so comfortable submitting work in person and being able to go speak yo a professor if something happened or to double check that it was in. It is also hard to come home from work and find the desire to sit down and watch lectures and do assignments and instead of watching TV or taking a nap..I think the easiest thing about virtual class is the fact that I have the chance to work full-time, grow my network, and not be locked into school all day. Being able to be flexible with school and such makes life a lot easier and a little more enjoyable! I also enjoy being able to step out if I need to without interrupting the lecture or if I need to just rest my brain for a moment :)

I am a night owl 100%! My brain does not function well early in the morning at all, which is strange considering my day starts at 4 am... I like the nighttime better because it is so much quieter than it is during the day. There are so many distractions during the day, but at night? Not as many which means I can get more done! I often find myself doing a lot more at night than during the day. The night is also when I have the most energy, even if I woke up early that morning and had a tiring day, I get a boost right before bed which allows me to get to work on things that need to be done!

The interesting thing about this question is that, for me, the hardest thing and the easiest thing are both part of the same coin so to speak. The hardest part about attending school online has by far been my time-management skills. Although at times challenging it has helped me learn to hold myself accountable in regards to completing assignments and lectures in a timely manner. On the other side the easiest part of attending online is the freedom to have a life outside of school. The amount of time and freedom I have in comparison to attending in person is drastic. I never thought I would say this but… I think I prefer going to school online. :O!

Having experienced now both in person and virtual learning styles, I can definitely make my own conclusions as to how I feel about them. As far as virtual learning goes, the hardest part would be the lack of face-to-face presence and the allocation of time. It is so easy to get distracted. The easiest part of this experience would be being able to make pretty much anywhere your classroom.

A challenge I've faced is easy access to a tutoring center (if needed). There is only so much one can learn when asking for help from a colleague, and they're not available at the time I may still be available.
By attending lectures and studying in different coffee shops, I was able to overcome the challenge of being stationary.
The easiest part of being a virtual student is getting to do my work on my own time. It also saves time and money (for gas); I did not realize how much time saved when it came to being off campus. On campus, I had to account for time walking to and from my car & walking to classes and the library. The chunk of extra time saved allows me to study more or spend time with friends and family.
To be honest, I actually interacted more with my colleagues virtually, than I have in in-class courses. Though group projects may be a hassle to some people, the interactions I've had with my classmates so far have been great.

The hardest part about working virtually has been making new friends. I've made a few, but miss being able to meet people in person, technology feels like a bit of a disconnection socially and makes me feel even more awkward trying to meet people (like ugh idk...should I message them...should I post this...? haha anxiety is not on my side when it comes to that). However, I have enjoyed being able to communicate with professors, being able to have a set schedule I can work around and be able to set times aside for studying, self-care, socializing when I can and not feeling as rushed as I usually did in person.

Finishing undergraduate remotely was challenging as I really had to find the inner motivation to set time aside to read, study and attend my lectures. I was also working remotely on my part time job and I felt like my work was so little compared to what other people were doing.
The easiest was being able to access my work and lectures whenever and wherever I needed it. Though I need to maintain a "work" space for myself, its been nice to do work when I can as I now work full time.

The hardest part of working virtually for me is the lack of compartmentalization, and the easily available distractions. Whether it's my dogs making noise or simply my mind drifting to non-work tasks, the distractions at home make it much more difficult to stay in 'work mode'. On the other hand, the commute to class is much easier than it was when I was taking classes in person, and I enjoy being able to be comfortable while I learn (I may or may not have a fuzzy blanket on my office chair) and not worry about packing a lunch or anything!

The hardest part is feeling isolated, I am an active person and do not like to sit still a lot or to be by myself a lot, it has been a challenge really to stay home watching lectures and do homework. I overcome this sometimes by going to Starbucks or going for a walk. The easiest part is that I do not use my car a lot, so I do not have to fill the tank of my car so often.

The hardest part about working virtually is staying on top of everything because I am going to school full time and I am working full time. I also get easily distracted and whenever I needed to watch the lectures I would have to go to the library to focus. It's difficult because if I am in a classroom I stay on top of things and don't really get distracted as much because I am only focusing on the lecture and there isn't much background noise. The easiest thing is that I got to be able to do everything at the time that worked best for me. It allowed me to be flexible with my work schedule.

The best part of working virtually is the ability of working on my own time and at the speed that I need to best facilitate my learning. Personally, the hardest part about working virtually is that I tend to lose focus sometimes. I may doze off or get distracted with no real repercussions while in real-time I tend to be more aware of my actions. Aside from that, I do not really mind not having face to face contact or any of the other problems usually faced by others. I actually quite enjoy most of the other features offered by virtual classes!

Hello, this is Krishna Ghimire. I I think there are more perks for me working or studying virtually than face to face since I have a 6 month old daughter and me been in military working and studying virtually have made things much easier and I can spend more time with my baby as well. The hard thing would be meeting the deadline if there is some technical issues, which has occurred with me before. Similarly, not been face to face sometimes makes you miss the content and just writing emails won't work. But again been virtual has also made me work on my time management skills and how much improvement I need.

Hardest: organization and motivation! I don't struggle with organization as much, although its tough keeping myself accountable when I'm able to organize my lecture schedule. This is where motivation kicks in. Since I know I can always view the lecture at a later date, I'm not always eager to get up on time for synchronous classes.

Easiest: Being able to rewatch and absorb the info as many times as I need.

The hardest part about doing things virtually is making sure I do not fall behind on lectures (asynchronously) and that I make sure that if I am not sure about a concept, that I do reach out to a professor. I try to remind myself that just because the professor is not right in front of you, doesn't mean that you shouldn't continue to ask questions. I think the easiest thing is being able to plan everything around my desired schedule. With work, and school, it is harder to have work shifts around class times, and this way, I am able to watch lectures during a time of the day in which I am not exhausted from a long shift. I won't lie though, I do miss being on campus!

I've found that asking questions really helps me stay engaged but it can definitely be difficult. One easy aspect of being online is how centralized everything is. Not having to walk across campus to get from class to class is definitely a plus!

My work has been in person this whole time so nothing has changed for me in that regards. As far as virtual learning, I'm in agreement with my class mates. Schooling at home is a bit more difficult because I do get distracted often. My home PC is also my gaming PC and it's so tempting to check out steam or discord. I'm working on getting my laptop fixed (hard drive died) so that I can attend class/work on homework at different places around town. The low level of background noise in public helps me work too. The easiest part about learning from home? Attending class in my PJ's and getting to cuddle my cat during lecture, hands down those are the best. Can't we just make comfy clothes the standard for everywhere?

The hardest part about being virtual is not being able to communicate with others as efficiently. I find it really aggravating not being able to talk things with people face to face and find a lot of things can get lost in translation. The easiest part would be the accessibility to material and resources, I like having that freedom to go back and rewatch lecture material or slow things down to a pace of my choosing.

I miss the interaction and "live" aspect of the zoom meetings but will look forward to connection with people on M and F! I used to be a total night owl and hated waking up in the mornings, now my typical schedule includes getting up between 4-5am. This is mostly due to having two cats that have no sense of true-time because at 4am they think it is almost 5:30am which is when their automatic feeders go off. Now, my internal clock wakes me up early and I have learned to love the mostly quiet mornings.

I like to think I'm more of a crepuscular person, so I work best at the hours of dawn and dusk. Though if I had to pick a time I think I'm more of an early bird? I am an early bird. I typically wake up at 4am on my work days. I start my mornings at the gym to help me wake up; it increases my productivity. If I skip the gym unintentionally, I feel groggy all day. I like that there are less cars on the road, and it is fairly quiet and peaceful. On top of that, breakfast is my favorite meal. It is also a time to plan out my day & reflect on any goals. I used to work night shifts and realized how much I appreciated sleeping at night and having my mornings free.

I pray for those who try to wake me up early in the morning. Since I was a child I HATED waking up in the morning and to be completely honest I don’t really do well waking up at all no matter what time it is. That sounds morbid but its not lol I just really hate waking up, although I do think this is contributed by my poor sleep. I’m definitely a don’t talk to me until I’ve had a cup of coffee type of person. At night time is where I shine. I am most productive after 6pm until about 2am. Ive tried for years to switch and I can’t do it. My brain says no but then the sun goes down and I am wired and want to do all the things. Versus my husband is a early morning (6am) happy, singing, making breakfast, cheery type and it makes me want to vomit and punch him.

I don't really mind getting up early, or staying up late, as long as I get my sleep in! If I know I have to be up early, I definitely have to go to sleep early as well, otherwise, it's not happening. Because of this, and the sporadic bursts of energy I get around 22:30, I'm probably closer to being a night owl!

I feel like I am an early bird most definitely. When I wake up, I have the most energy and drive to get things done. I like mornings because it is a fresh start with minimal frustration built up and over all just a clean slate to my mindset; I can choose what kind of day I am going to have. I don't like working past 10pm if I can help it because I am not as productive due to built up frustrations, tiredness, or just simply yearning for some down time to allow my mind to relax before bed.

Night-owl! I don't go to sleep until around 1 AM each night. I love the nighttime because I have the freedom to do whatever I want. For some reason, I'm able to focus more. I think it's because my brain begins to turn off, and I can concentrate on 1 or 2 particular topics without being anxious about the millions of things I have on my mind constantly. I read all of my scientific publications at night.

I would like to be able to say one, but I am kind of neither, which is kind of odd? I don't enjoy waking up early, nor do I do it naturally, and I have a hard time staying up late, unless I am actively doing something. I like to fall asleep on the couch by 9:30pm :) If I had to choose one, I think I would say I am more of a early bird because once I am actually up, I am a happy and productive morning person, it is always just hard getting out of bed early!

I am such an early bird! The more things I can get done in the am the better. I just feel like it's a waste of the day to sleep in past like 9am, but one could argue you can get just as much done if you stay up until 3am like my fiance. Eh...just not for me. The things I like about the morning time are my coffee/tea time, walking my dogs in the summer when its not hot, and morning exercise just really gets me warmed up for the day! This semester my goal is to be up by 6am. I am also just a very sleepy person. I start falling asleep around 10pm and I cant help it. Im an old lady at heart <3

I think I am more of an Early Bird...I love the quietness and giving myself that personal time in the morning to plan out my day, focus on me. I am actually trying to learn and incorporate Yoga in my regime, if I can't get that in, I am walking dogs I dog-sit, in the early morning which is a beauty all on it's own, walking when the day is still waking up. I love listening to ambient sounds while doing work, that way I don't feel too crazy being up early and sets me off on a nice and calm tone for a busy day. I have an internal alarm that wakes me up by 6:30am, if I sleep in past 9am, I feel like the day has been wasted haha, but if I can get up before then it allows me to study, plan and give myself that self-care. If I push it too hard at night I start to get 'tired drunk' and can't think as clearly.

I am definitely an early bird. I feel like getting up early and starting on your day gives you a lot more opportunity to be productive. I may not be super cool for not wanting to stay up really late, but on the other hand my brain works way better in the morning. I've always known that about myself, and it has usually led me to only taking morning classes too. So, yes I am an early bird, cus early bird gets the worm!

HOnestly, I am a night owl who can stay all night to finish something but my military career has pushed me to be an early morning person. I cannot out tune myself from getting up at 3 or 4:30 in morning. That is usually the PT time for army and that training is still haunting me lol till this day. I get up wide awake at 4:30. But as I worked overnight shifts for past 4 years so I feel like I get alot done at night than in day

I think since I became a mom I had to get on my kids schedule so I get up with them in the morning and then I like to stay up after they go to bed so I can wind down a bit. I am a night owl. I feel like my brain does not work as well during the day. I usually stay up late to finish all of my work. I am just not a morning person. I am typically grumpy when I have to wake up super early. I also like to work better at night because because my house is super quiet and nobody is awake but me. I prefer to do things in a quiet setting so I focus and put all of my attention on what I am doing.

I am a night owl, I prefer the quiet environment at night as it really helps me calm down and focus on getting things done. However, I do understand and appreciate the importance of sleeping early, and therefore I always take the time to re-adjust in case I have to start waking up early on certain day, I usually start sleeping earlier in case I slept late 2 days or so to re-adjust my biological clock.

I am a bit of both, I believe I thrive during the morning and have more energy to do things, however, most of the things that have to get done, I can only do during the night. I like the mornings because its like a fresh start to the day, of course the actual process of waking up and getting dressed is a lot. But once the day has actually gotten started, I feel very productive and have the need to get things done. I like the night time because it’s more of my quiet downtime/homework time, but definitely tricky keeping my eyes open after a long work day.

I am both. I do not like being awake during the day, and I like being awake late at night and early in the morning (just before people start their days). I like that everything around me is asleep primarily and the quiet during these times. I can focus on tasks without distractions, and as an introvert, I like the idea of being awake during times when others are usually asleep so as to avoid social interactions.

I am definitely a night owl, which sucks since I start work at 6 am. I can think better at night as opposed to the day and it's when I seem to get all my energy. I like how quiet and chill the night is. Big crowds of people don't work with my anxiety and going grocery shopping at 2 am is pretty great.

I'm definitely a night owl-I try so hard to be an early bird, as my boyfriend and dog wake up with the sun and I'd like to join their morning festivities, but no matter how hard I try, I always sleep in if I don't have anywhere to be. At night, however, I do appreciate the quietness of the world in terms of people, but how the choir of the wildlife have a tendency to start up. It is much easier to get work done, because you aren't distracted by wanting to be outside, or people trying to talk to you, or just commotion in general.

Recently I watched new movies and old ones. One of my favorite movies is Dances with Wolves by Kevin Costner. Communication and history are my favorite themes in the movie. Recently I watched Encantoe, although it is a kid's movie, but it has a great meaning of heritage and the desire of the young to be loved and admired but the big, it also stresses on the idea of uniqueness and the role of Every single one in building a safe environment.

I binged Euphoria when season two started coming out with a new episode every week on HBOMax. I love the cinematography, the soundtrack, the character development, all of it. I am a huge murder and crime documentary person. I am the type of person who can fall asleep to podcasts about them or even watching something like that on the TV. I think that the best one I watched last was Dark Obsessions on Hulu. It is so creepy but so interesting to hear the stories of the victims. It makes me want to look over my shoulder more, but, I really really enjoyed it. It was rewarding to see that those people made it out alive! Coming in as a close second is the anime Attack on Titan.. yes I know... pretty nerdy.. but I have been a fan since season one and now it is on its final season. The only reason why it isn't first is because they keep getting rid of the good characters that I grew way too attached to form the start!

I'm a big fan of A24 in general, so I saw The Green Knight last year. I loved that movie so much but I totally understand why someone wouldn't like it. As for TV shows, I'm not big on alot of TV so I haven't caught up to anything but I do enjoy Kingdom (Netflix Korean import).

I am super late to the game but my husband and I just started watching Grey’s Anatomy. I’ve always heard people talk about it but felt that maybe it was overhyped, until I started watching it and have recently fallen in love with the series. I am one of those people who prefers to watch older shows because I like to binge watch and absolutely hate waiting. I also prefer shows with multiple seasons so I can enjoy it for a long time. I enjoy this series so so much because I’m interested in becoming a board certified veterinary surgeon focused on critical cases and this fall I’ll be entering my first year of veterinary school. The show is surgery focused and to a degree very realistic. As a surgical technician, I can 100% say that some of the things they say or do are real in the medicine world and it makes me feel better and not so alone. Haha. It also helps me look forward to one day being in their shoes (just working with animals instead of people).

I just finished the newest season (/"limited series" :( ) of Dexter (aka Dexter: New Blood) a few weeks ago. I watched the first series of Dexter in high school and enjoyed it so much that I turned around and read the book series after I finished the show (which, btw, is really good, and much different than Showtime's adaptation). When I heard that there was going to be a sequel, I cleared my Sunday schedule to be able to watch it (and recover from each episode). For those Dexter fans that are considering watching it-PLEASE do! The storyline is much more complicated and realistic than the first series, and the character development left me with permanent emotional damage. Could not recommend it enough!

The last greatest tv show that got me hooked was Archive81. It's typically not something I would watch on my own; my friends were the ones who introduced it to me. It was number one on Netflix for a little bit, and it's basically a documentary of a woman who went missing after she found out about a cult. It is creepy but enticed me to keep wanting more. I hate how it ended; I have so many questions. I don't think there's a way for Netflix to create a sequel for this, but I know it's highly likely they will. I am interested to see how they can keep this one going.

The last great movie I watched would have to be Spiderman: No Way Home. The nostalgia kills me and makes me so happy. I love everything about it and enjoyed it so much. Marvel does it again....as for TV shows, I am personally watching Bones right now and love Hodgins as he is the 'bug and slime' guy and I get to connect microbiology to his findings in crime sometime haha! I love crime shows. Gosh, I have watched more TV since Covid than all of my prior TV watching put together! I like a lot of movies that I tend to rewatch and they feel like old friends, they are generally romances or rom/coms. If a movie is not romantic or funny I generally do not like it, and it always needs to have a feel good ending. The last cute movie (not great, sorry! I’ve lowered the bar!) Was Free Guy with Ryan Reynolds. I have a 13 year old boy at home and the setting of video game characters that become real was compelling and the acting was good. I also watched the Ted Lasso series and I liked that. My next series will be Queer Eye, I’ve watched some of it but want to watch it from the beginning.

With this goal in mind, I would start out by recruiting Goku, the hero of the Dragon Ball series(es) and movies. The most powerful superhero and that would be Captain Marvel. She’s immune to toxins or poisons and can fly, she’s strong and can see the future, she would be able to fight off some zombies.
I think Bear Gryls, he’s the only survivalist I could think of. Even if his show is staged he’s had to have learned something from Man Vs. Wild so that he could help forage for food and find water, splint my leg if it breaks, treat a snake bite, etc..
Lastly, I would pick the Whomping Willow from Harry Potter who is technically not a person but is definitely a fictional character who would be an asset to my team. Bear could build us a treehouse in the Whomping Willow and it would fight off the zombies for us when Captain Marvel gets tired.

My absolute dream job is to be an emergency room physician, or even a trauma surgeon. I am stuck between the two of them and I am going to let myself see if I have what it takes to be a surgeon once I get into medical school. I desperately want to be a professor! I've been able to do research for quite a while now and know I have barely opened the treasure chest of possibilities. Recently, I have had the opportunity to teach underrepresented STEM students in a laboratory setting independently. I am learning so many new ways of breaking the traditional mold of lecturing and have experimented and found the best way to support students through critical thinking. My dream job ideally would be to never do customer service. As someone who has been in customer service in all my jobs, it is scary alarming how much we have to appease rude people. That's ideally speaking; practically, I know most careers come with it. I am aiming for my DVM; I question where I would like to take it. This program has shifted my interest to the pathology and microbiology side of it. I think it would be awesome to implement this as a specialty. I am also interested in shelter medicine and ER medicine. If I were independently wealthy, after I finished my education, I'd buy a ranch or farm in a sunny, moderately humid area. I'd have a barn for some horses, but the focus of my property would be big greenhouses housing exotic plants, as well as a cool laboratory. I'd take a couple years to travel around the world and find plants to fill my greenhouses with, taking environmental samples (and people samples, with consent!) everywhere I go for microbiome analysis to look for new species. When I was done traveling and ready to settle down, I'd get into breeding my plants, studying the pathogens that affect them, and do some plant genetic modification experiments to see if I can make some of my ideas come to life!

My ranch would be my home base, but would also function as an education center. I would invite classes from schools, especially those who don't have strong scientific emphasis, to come learn about everything I'm doing, and hopefully get some of them interested in plants or microbiology! Once my operations were established, I would set up a few businesses I've been pondering, and then donate the majority of my remaining wealth to those more in need, or who could put it to better use than I would at that point. Preferably, I would like to help establish infrastructure to increase the quality of lives of the people in the areas I traveled to, so I can give back to those who helped me achieve my dreams!

With time, I could even have things that I would have no way of having in my normal lifespan, like a lake house on a different planet, as well as a ride there. In another way, if I could use my supply of time to spend more time within happy or interesting moments, or even to have more time to study, life would maybe be a bit easier.

My favorite place that I have traveled to would be Rocky Mountain National Park. It is only an hour and a half from me currently, but I am a transplant from MN so this is still really awesome! My favorite place so far is Catalina Island. I went snorkeling there for the first time, and I enjoyed it there more than doing so in Hawaii. Out of all the places I have traveled one of my favorite places would have to be the Philippines. My mother was born in the city of Bulakan and my freshman year of high school we went as a whole family after 23 years of my mother being in the US. I got to understand and learn part of my culture, explored historical places, my mother's hometown, met family members, stayed in a bamboo villa, and stayed on a small island (Pagudpud). The picture above is my picture I took of the bamboo villas we stayed at in Villa Escudero, if you search it on google images you will see one of the places we ate was at the bottom of a water fall. It felt like being a little kid again, while eating their local cuisine.

The way that my grandma talks of the simpler times where they lived off of and worked the land sounds so fulfilling. I think my favorite place I've travelled to is Honduras. The waters were so crystal blue and the island was surrounded by a coral reef, so we could go snorkeling right outside our back porch. The culture was incredible and it was not too crowded with tourists. We stayed at a house on the water and had a local neighbor that would bring over freshly baked coconut bread that was AMAZING. I would definitely go back, but I would also love to experience other beaches and coastal towns that I could possibly love even more!

Luxor & Aswan. They are of the main tourist attraction cities in Egypt, there are so many nile cruises that are dedicated for them because a typical nile cruise tends to fit in all the attraction sites throughout the travel period (aka 12 hour or so distance by cruise between each attraction site). The temples there are extremely fascinating and can look so gorgeous at night (a bit too cold for me though). The most amusing things though, were the constant room traps and setups done by the staff and cleaners. Every time we went back to our rooms after landscaping, we would be met by scary figurine setups made with our towels and sunglasses! My first encounter was terrifying...

I really enjoyed traveling to Cancun, Mexico. It was so pretty! The beaches had clear bright blue water. I also had amazing tacos. I was there for a week and it was nice to get away.

My favorite place I've ever travelled to is hard to choose, but because of my current Vitamin D level's and Colorado's high-quality seafood deficiency, I would have to choose Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. More specifically, Restaurante Las Carmelitas, which is a magical restaurant that sits atop a mountain overlooking the bay. It's a bit of a trip up, but definitely worth the journey!

My husband and I and three of our children traveled to Switzerland and hiked in the Jungfrau mountains. We hiked to a clearing and came across some large brown Swiss cows with bells around their necks laying in the shade by a glacier fed pond. We could look up to the top of the mountain and see the glacier that the water in the pond was coming from and hear the lowing of the cows and the tinkling of the bells around their necks, everything was green and beautiful, we sat down and looked down the valley to where we came from and could see the Alps all around and it was pretty much a perfect day that I will never forget.

My most favorite place in the whole world is Zaragoza, Spain. Genuinely one of the most beautiful cites I've ever been to and the most wonderful sunsets I've ever seen. Because of their location and time zone their golden hour is not a single hour but HOURS they have daylight until 11 pm and their daily schedule fits my lifestyle more than any other place I've ever been. Truly felt at home. Also the food is drool worthy!

I've never had much of a chance to travel due to a bunch of things, but of the places I've seen I really like the the Avenue of the Giants when driving up to Humboldt County here in California. The site of gigantic redwoods on both sides of the road is really fantastic and I recommend it for everyone! I'd like to do more traveling once I'm with school to make up for lost time.

I think the hardest part is that for me this masters is like a side job that I can only work on during my off time at home where I don't get any interaction with people going through this with me. I am a pretty outgoing person and this virtual work makes it difficult for me to get things done and worded correctly without asking my wife for help. Over break, I discovered Glee. I had never watched Glee before, as my mom wouldn't have allowed it. I love the singing. I am perfectly aware of how terrible the storyline and drama can be, but it's still addictive! My husband hates it. He will not be in the same room when it's on. I don't care for fame, and I don't need a legacy. However, I want to have an impact in my field and be regarded as an innovative contributor. Most of all, I would want my child to remember me as someone who was there for him and loved him. I sure would like it if I could help a few other people along the way, professionally and/or personally.

Nursing Research Director at a large academic hospital, maybe... or something research related. Also I'd love to be in a professional choir on the side, to balance myself out. I would like to have a job where I get to use my analytical personality and love of learning in a way that improves processes and helps me keep learning, while adding to the world's pool of knowledge.

I'd get awfully bored without a job, so I would work in my own lab, studying interesting diseases and developing cures, about four days per week. I would have the best scientists in the world employed there, and they may think of me skeptically for a while, but hey, I'd own the lab so they'd never be able to oust me. I might have more kids. I'd hire night caretakers for them while they're young and a personal chef most days of the week. I would also have a flock of white silkies, and a bunch of other chickens, and a huge garden that I'd get to tend. I would have a giant climate-controlled greenhouse. I'd take music lessons until I got into a professional choir. I would fund the arts and the sciences.

Flowers. They're my guilty pleasure. I always want to buy them when I see them, but I can't justify buying myself flowers when the budget is tight (which is how we tend to keep it) and when they only last a few days and serve no essential function.

I would build a greenhouse within five feet of the fence; like, right up against the fence to maximize space. It's against some regulation. Oh also, I'd have chickens in my backyard, which is also illegal in my HOA.

There was this one spot we snorkeled in Hawaii, and I saw so many large beautiful fish of all different colors. I even saw an octopus! I love that memory. I'd totally go back there if I ever had to go back to HI.

Adele, the queen of beautiful sadness and regret. My in-laws may hate her and say "she sounds like a cow" but then again that may be all the better; annoying them with tasteful music may be the greatest thing I can accomplish in death...

Recently, my son's preschool teacher told my husband that I remind her of Bernadette from the Big Bang theory. I felt rather complimented. I think she may be on to something, and the weirdly high voice which always comes out around my kiddo matches too. Incidentally, she was a Microbiologist! :D

If I become famous, something really random or unfortunate happened to me. Or, way out on a limb, maybe I'll be in a singing video with a singing group and we'll go viral among people who like oldies and classical music. If I cured autoimmune diseases or endometriosis or allergies, I think I'd still be safely un-famous.
