This video is from my placement we were doing the rhyme time with instrument name Ukkulerli and singing different rhymes. Children are clapping moving their bodies with sound of music , parents also join in and we sang different songs and did actions. Its a very interesting play group mostly families are from Burma, English is their second language but when we do rhyme time and book time so they can learn English. Mostly children don't understand English but when it comes to songs they see us do the actions than they start copying. With the sound of instruments body start to move than the words make you do the actions as a interpreter . Through moving bodies and doing actions can be so amazing its a teaching tool like intentional teaching.
An important part of singing contribute to teach behaviour, basic skills and social skills. It helps preschooler to learn about vocabulary and communication skills. When you sing with children they enjoy and they interact with you, and when you change your vocal tone and song it helps the children to learn the natural sound of music. When we are singing songs we automatically speak more clearly and slowly than we normally do, that helps children to understand more easily. Children love to imitate like matching movements with words like in this rhyme Hockey Pockey they are learning about body parts and right and left its with help of music and a catchy tune that automatically children start moving. Zeitilin is a recording artist and a author writes "Music can connect a child to language " she notes "children respond naturally to music they can move to it create their own verses and learn more easily in that mode.
