According to studies conducted in the USA at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, men's brains age faster than women's brains. The study wanted to test how sugar affects aging, given that in men it is used differently than it is in women. Despite the discovery, scientists do not explain why sugar plays an important role in brain aging, however, they propose hormones as "protagistic" participants in the process. And finally, they present some tips to maintain a young brain, such as exercising daily or sleeping the minimum hours necessary according to age.

Anna Matteo wrote this story for VOA Learning English.
