The religion was founded before the birth of Confucius but really took off once he started to teach other about this philosophy. They are a group of all of his teachings and philosophies written on paper. The books focus on&nbsp; improvement of oneself and society.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>There are two main holidays celebrated; the birthday of Confucius and the Chinese New Year. Confucius' birthday is celebrated on September 28th through performing with ancient instruments, wearing traditional clothing, and dancing. The Chinese New Year celebrations have been influenced by Confucian philosophy's of each spring bringing good fortune and a fresh start. It is celebrated through parades, fireworks, family gatherings, and street performances. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Currently over 6 million people practice Confucianism. Some people even practice a combination of Taoism, Confucianism, and Buddhism. It is mainly practiced in the heart of China but can still be found in surrounding countries. After Confucius' death in 479 BCE, shrines have been built in honor of him. In these temples preachers commemorate Confucius by carrying on his teachings. The preachers often hold some sort of governmental position or a teaching degree. </div>]]></description>
