Contractors build according to the blueprints, and teachers teach using the curriculum. When educators reverse roles (example teacher-architects to teacher-contractors) can make decisions and adjustments more effectively.

Orbits of Ability.
Like students, teachers are different from one another, each having their own talent or area of expertise. Hale and Fisher (2013) stated “When one person moves into another person’s orbit of ability, his or her knowledge and capabilities grow." The more orbits of ability that overlap, the greater the professional growth.

Curriculum Examinations.
Districts should be examining and revising their curriculum in a timely manner. Some districts wait a decade before making changes. Teachers should consider themselves doctors, and the students their patients. Curriculum maps, and lessons are the prescriptions. It’s important that what is being “prescribed” (taught) is in the “patients’” (students’) best interest. (Hale and et al, 2013).
