Dystopian novels seem to be futuristic, and take place in a very technological world. Someone would write a dystopian novel as a commentary on current society, and to show what the future could end up being like if we aren't careful. These stories include the benefits of helping us be more careful so our world doesn't end up being messed up like some of theirs.

Dystopian literature could (although unlikely) give us a glimpse into our future as the Human Race. Another reason is because dystopian novels are fun to read and also very exciting. People love to read riveting books because it gives them a feeling as if they were there.

I think why authors would write about dystopian novels is to share their insight on what they think the world could be like in the future . Examples could be over population and lack of resources that could potentially happen in the future and definitely would affect mankind in a negative way. The people who write dystopian novel simply want you to be aware of what could happen.
