In the mid 80's the band consisted of three people Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks, and Phil Collins. As soon as we enter the drums and guitar kick. Shortly after the lyrics come in while in the video we see some running shots through a foggy marsh along with some people marching. In the foggy mash we can see heads of political figures being ripped out of the ground by the marching people. Along with the lyrics "Been haunted by a million screams But I can hear the marching feet They're moving into the street" All this cryptic symbolism sums up to people revolting against the governments and their leaders in a violent and terrible way, the worst way. We see him running while it flashes back in forth between him and a stage with political figures delivering speeches. It follows this up with Reagan getting distracted and falling asleep again. This part is clearly try to point out that one person cannot change the world. Along with the lyrics "The men of steel, the men of power

Also mixed with some strong imagery of an adult hands holding the hands of a babies. But the symbolism is pretty clear here, the party of people is again stating that we cant change the world on our own, that we need to work together. All in all this song is well known for its music video and its strong anti-government style, along with its simple but entertaining music score. The music video features political characters like Ronald Reagan and Joseph Stalin portrayed by puppet caricatures that fall somewhere in the uncanny valley.
