I am thinking of it to be more on the tools, regulations, and so much more that is used in the dissemination of news. I am expecting for it to be of course, make us learn things that we barely know about this specific subject especially the correct and responsible use of media, for instance, how to write a news or information. For these days, people are not using media in a proper and responsible way.

As a person who is born in the millinneal days, I also admit that I use technology not in a proper way. In this core subject, I expect to that this will help me found the true meaning or purpose of media, as well as to become skillful and responsible person in using media, technology and computers.

It's my first time to take a subject named Media and Information Literacy. So by just reading it, I can say that it is very challenging and interesting. Though I don't have any idea what topics that we are going to take up but still, I hope that I can learn more about Media and Literacy. The first thing that comes into my mind is that, maybe we will have to tackle about communication and technology. But because I’m very curious of this topic I suggest to myself that I have to search some information about this subject. And base on my research about media and information literacy is defined as a set of competencies that empowers citizens to access, retrieve, understand, evaluate and use, create, as well as share information and media content in all formats, using various tools, in a critical, ethical and effective way, in order to participate and engage in personal, professional and societal activities. Before I’m confused about what is Media and Information Literacy until Ma’am Erma Ignacio came and introduced us about it. Media and Information Literacy is about equipping citizens with the competencies and skills to engage effectively and responsibly with media and information systems and it enables people to interpret and make informed judgments as users of information and media, as well as to become skillful creators and producers of information and media messages in their own right. . This will make people to become active and critical citizens who can participate in civic life and democracy. MIL is an important prerequisite for nurturing equitable access to information and knowledge and promoting free, independent information systems. Whenever I hear the word “Media and Information” there’s one word comes to my mind it is “Communication”.

The following are my expectations in this subject:

- A lot of activities that will boost our confidence.

- The activities are challenging.

- Easy lesson, quizzes and exams.

- Learn new things about Media.

- Activities that will enhance our skills like Broadcasting and Telecasting.

Verily, media and information literacy for me sounds unfamiliar.When I knew that this is one of our core subjects for the second semester I really asked why does this subject is included since my discernment on it was probably introduces aspects related on computer where supposedly serves only for those who are taking ICT strand under TVL yet we are in Humanities and Social Sciences strand.But then when I inquire it in the internet I found out that I was definitely wrong because the internet defines MIL as a combination of information literacy and media literacy.And some purpose of it is to engage in the digital society;one needs to be able to use, understand,inquire,create,communicate and think artically.That's why I expect too much that ma'am Erma will totally provide us lots of learnings that we didn't know yet and she will possibly make us all contented and enjoyed with all the activities by the end of the semester.

I was just an elementary student when I learned how to use computer. I was expecting that it was the highest form of technology already and I thought it was very easy. But as time passed by, it becomes more complicated and in that period of time, I also learned that computers are not only used for games but it was used for school or work matters and communicating. As a Grade 11 student Im proud to say that I have some knowledge about media and technology, thanks to my teachers!

This subject, Media and Information Technology (MIL) is quite interesting and challenging one. I expect to gain more important and useful keypoints and ideas that can help me through my journey. I am just absolutely hyped with one of our newest subject this second sem:Media and Information Literacy. Im delighted to learn new things once again and with a new season of our school year;fresh sets of unfamiliar subjects are taking over.This subject in particular is rather interesting.Although,Im significantly clueless right now;Im fully prepared both mentally and physically for what's coming ahead of it.Im thrilled!

Hearing just the name of this subject itself awaken my curious mind. I am glad that we will be given a chance to learn something that is quite new to us. Undeniably, this subject could be another "cup of tea" for us, still with the help of our teacher. We could easily learn to accept and learn the basic.
My expectations for this subject is that we could easily absorb and learn the things we must know and cope up with the incoming lessons. So let me tour you on some realizations regarding that big question. Allow me to use the 3 divisions of our Human Body: The Mind, the Heart and Our Hands; The Cognitive, the Affective and the Psychomotor.

a. Your mind is an instrument of wonder. In your mind lies the greatest of all literature ever gave by history to mankind. Yes, you are to read. You are to critique. You are to analyze. Your role starts the moment to you step in your school, look at your surroundings, then analyze the behavior of your environment. You will be meeting surnames like Smith, Ricardo and Malthus who reigns in the field of economics; Parsons, Weber, Durkheim and Marx for Sociology; Jung, Skinner, Pavlov, Kierkegaard for Psychology; Salazar & Enriquez, Ocampo, Almario for Priceless Filipino Learnings. You may not go to the usual laboratory, but your laboratory is your community were actual happenings in life is occurring.

b. Your heart is the greatest balance that will weigh things and your thinking. It all starts with the wonder in your mind and the picture of the events that your eyes have seen. Your heart will be put into test; your emotions will mature as well. But one thing is for sure, the quest for meaning will not end. What is love without sense? What are words without meaning? What are pains if it’s not hurting? What are tears if those are not meaningful? What is the truth if it’s not truth for the public? You heart is the greatest balance. You stand for what you believe in. Yes, integrity is one of the characteristic of HUMMS student.

c. Your hands. These hands will mold the world we are living. These hands of yours are capable of making and destroying the principle of life, the balance of the society and the concept of humanity. Your action will really influence your quest for meaning. So don’t just be a fanatic. Be a thinker. Don’t just follow the wave, challenge the current. Life is always a matter of meaning. And it always start with your action and with your willingness to succeed.

As I was referring before, you are in the strand where you are in the core and the core is alive because of the meaning you are striving to give in it.

The disease was so severe his hands and feet were covered with more than 13lbs of warts, also called 'cutaneous horns'. The severity of his condition gave him international notoriety - including several feature-length documentaries highlighting his plight. The warts were severely debilitating, preventing the proper use of his hands and feet - and were believed locally to have been the result of a curse. His wife of ten years also left him after he couldn't support them and their two children. In 2008, he had 13lb of warts surgically removed from his body. The operation was such a success that he could play Sudoku and wear flip-flops. But the growths continued to return, requiring two surgeries a year to keep the infections down.
