The pyramids of Egypt are one of the most beautiful and close to perfect wonders of the ancient world. Even with no technology to deal with heavy limestone and materials for the building of these tombs, the ancient Egyptians have mastered the art of architecture, creating remarkable structures, such as the Great Pyramid of Khufu , the largest of the Great Pyramids of Giza. If one divides the perimeter of the pyramid by its height, the value obtained is equal to dividing the circumference of the circle by its radius: 2 multiplied by π. This mathematical marvel is truly one of its kind and deserves to be preserved for the education of the future generations so that it carries on the many stories that were passed down to us.

However, these pyramids are critically threatened by climate change. These structures were built to endure the conditions of its locations, not the climate issues our irresponsibility has brought upon us and the world. The ancient stonework is facing cracks in the facades of the graves and the colour of the archaeological stones are fading. Extremely high temperatures and floods are also threatening the very core of the marvellous, long-standing structures that are a key part of the world’s cultural identity and will be for years to come. The deterioration of these monuments may lead to them becoming lost to the world, forever. No longer belonging to us, and no longer belonging to our future generations.

It is up to us, as citizens of the world, to take fruitful action to safeguard these wonders that have, for so long, made our collective identity as global citizens, so unique. Let us all play our part to ensure that these mathematical marvels are preserved for us, for our children and for many generations to come, so that they may continue to uphold the basis for our diversity and what makes us special.

The Great Wall of China, or Wanli Changcheng in Mandarin, was built over many centuries by the emperors of China to protect their territory from invaders.

Though it is a major tourist attraction known worldwide, it is facing environmental threats due to climate change. Natural factors such as high temperatures and solar radiation, (acid) rain, typhoons and hurricanes, mudslides and earthquakes cause considerable damage to the Great Wall, which have only been exacerbated by climate change.

Our class hopes that with the conservative measures taken by the Chinese government and other forces, they can combat climate change, and the Great Wall of China will withstand the test of time.

materials. The desgn is intriguing so we made a detailed version because size matters and its unique!
