Most social differences are based on the accident of birth. For eg - people may be tall ,strong ,weak ,girl or boy.

Some social differences emerge on our choices to follow certain practices or principle.

All social differences do not result in social divisions. Sometimes, even people belonging to different religions may have common interests.

Role Of Community And Culture :- The outcome depends on how political leaders raise the demands of any community. It is easier to accommodate demands
that are within the constitutional framework and are not at the cost of another community.

The Role Of A Political Party And Government :- In another way, the political outcome of social divisions depends on how the government reacts to demands of different groups.
This is observed in Belgium and Sri Lanka. If the rulers are willing to share power and accommodate the reasonable demands of the minority community, social divisions become less threatening for the country.
But if they try to suppress such a demand in the name of national unity, the end result is often quite

The silver medalist Peter Norman who was an Australian athlete, also supported  the two Americans .

The International Olympics Association found Carlos and Smith guilty and took their medals back . Norman also suffered for his actions as he was excluded from the Australian team .

But , they succeeded in gaining International Attention for Civil Rights Movement  in US .
