Global warming of course, would be the biggest effect, which would lead to many other consequences, like drying up of water bodies, death of animals that live in coler places, rise in sea levels, food shortage etc, health problems etc.

Even if we may not be the big companies that cause all these problems, we can prevent climate change by playing our part. Just changing a bit of our daily habits like using water used to wash vegetables to water plants, using waste as compost, using rainwater to wash vehicles and all.

Food wastage is another issue. Every day, each person is throwing away approximately what amounts to two bowls of rice, which could fill up 15 Olympic sized swimming pools or 700 double-decker buses. In a year, we generate about 800,000,000 tons (?) of food wastage.

In fact the average temperature of Earth increases by 0.8 degree cel. each year. That is a 8 deg.cel. increase in just 10 years!!! 

There are many causes of this problem, both man-made and natural. 
Natural Causes: 
1. Volcanic erruption
- when volcanoes erupt, they emit Greenhouse Gases(GHG) and heat. This contributes to some extent to the temperature rise as the amount of these gases are very little. 

2. Movement of tectonic plates. 
- Tectonic plates' movement is known to cause tsunamis. The bigger the movement, the bigger the tsunami. However, it also causes Global warming. When tectonic plates shift and collide, new mountains are created, new holes are formed, affecting the stability  of the distribution of air. When air is distributed unevenly, so will the elements of gases in the air. This could lead to a higher concentration of GHGs , leading to higher temperature.

It is causing irregular weather patterns, warmer temperatures, melting of icebergs that cause polar bears and other animals losing their homes. The burning of trees for agriculture and land will cause more carbon dioxide been produce. By using the 3 Rs, it can help reduce your carbon footprint.

Food wastage is caused by a few causes. It could be due to buying too much food, buying food but forgetting about it until it's expired. Or food that doesn't look as appeasing at supermarkets. Although Singapore is a food paradise a lot of food is wasted. The government is trying to help with food wastage by having talks and campaigns to educate the public. There are also discounts in some supermarkets for produce that don't look as fresh or pleasing to the eye.
