I am King James I and I was the first Puritan King of England and I took over from the great Queen Elizabeth. I was the first King to translate the Bible into English and they called it The King James Bible. I was honored to be the King founded of the most prominent settlements in the newly acquired land of America. I named it Jamestown.

Charles I

I am Charles I and I believed in the divine right of Kings leading to the struggles of parliament over taxation, religion, and governance leading on. This led to me dissolving the governed body many times without using their permission which caused the English Civil War in 1642. My forces were called Royalists/ Cavaliers, the opposite forces which was led by Oliver Cromwell were called Roundheads, my forces lost and I was killed for treason against my own country.

Charles II

I am Charles II and during the ruling of Oliver Cromwell I had a difficult time, I was being banished to France by him because I threatened to take my place in the throne after my father Charles I. After his death in 1658 I returned to England and took his place as King. I restored the Monarchy and during my reign I desired to heal the wounds left by the Civil War I pursued the policy of Religious Tolerance in the Declaration of Indulgence.

Oliver Cromwell

I am Oliver Cromwell and I was a Puritan Army General and I also became military leader during the English Civil War this leading to me being crowned the Lord Protector. I am known for my participation in the execution of James I and ruling England as a military dictator. I changed the England government by establishing the commonwealth and abolishing the monarchy, I had a vision for a Puritanical Society.

James II

I am James II I was the Roman Catholic brother of Charles II and I was the last Roman Catholic Kind of England, Ireland, and Scotland. I was faced with a lot of challenges due to the fact I was another Catholic King which upset the people of England due to the challenges with religion and many others the Glorious Revolution of England began. I was peacefully overthrown during my reign I solidified the Constitutional Monarchy, laid the foundation for the English Bill of Rights that limited the powers of the monarch.

William & Mary

I am William and I am Queen Mary I Mary was daughter of King James II but I was raised Protestant unlike my father. I married William a Protestant Dutch Prince. We were asked to rule England after the parliament overthrew my father. We are most known for passing the Bill of Rights in 1689 which limited the monarchy this being the inspiration of the U.S. Bill of Rights.
