O brother where art thou was a film and in this film it showed me that children were really independent. In this film there was a young boy no younger than 10 years old and he was holding a gun at 3 men standing 4 meters away from the front door, the young boy said ”daddy told me to shoot anyone who's from the bank”- the boy is told this because normally back in that time the bank would come if they cant pay off the money owed. This same boy lived in a rusty shack with his dad (there was no mention of a mother) in the desert. The little boy Isn't feed right because the father gave the child and the other 3 men rotten horse meat. But when the time came where girls could wear shorts they were over-thrilled, it states "i was overjoyed when girls started to wear shorts". "Or if you lived far back in the mountains, you wouldn't be able to go to high school". In this article it doesn't stat why 'the people in far back of the mountains couldn't go to high school'. Most children didn't bring lunch to school as there was nothing at there home to bring, "many poor students went to school hungry, because at home their parents didn't have anything to feed them". Schools across America closed down because of lack of money.
