         <description><![CDATA[<div>Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.<br><br>James Madison’s defense of religious freedom began when he stood with his father outside a jail in the village of Orange and heard Baptists preach from their cell windows. What was their crime? They were unlicensed – preaching religious opinions not approved by the government. along with the rest of the Bill of Rights, was submitted to the states for ratification on September 25, 1789, and adopted on December 15, 1791.<br><br>I too believe we should all have freedom of religion and there lack of; We all have the right to speak our minds peacefully as well,&nbsp; and we should all have a right to do what makes us happy, hesitate from what doesn't, and to pursue what we what from life.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.<br><br>Created so that the states could form militias or armies to destroy insurrections or slave rebellions because the federal government had no standing military for a long time. A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. On December 15, 1791, the Bill of Rights (the first ten amendments to the Constitution) was adopted, having been <strong>ratified</strong> by three-fourths of the states.<br><br>I think that we should be allowed to own guns but in the same respect, i think only well minded people that have a good use for one, needs one; mentally stable hunters, police officers, etc. I think it should be harder to get a gun because if you really need one, you'll go through the process to get one.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.<br><br>Created to protect the privacy of citizens. It was prompted by colonial resentment of the common British practice of quartering troops in American homes. places restrictions on the quartering of soldiers in private homes without the owner's consent, forbidding the practice in peacetime.<br><br>We do deserve that privacy. We pay for our homes, bills, etc but some soldiers do live out on the streets and I believe that some people should allow a soldier in here and there if they trust them enough.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.<br><br>To protect the innocent and the non-guilty from law enforcement and to protect their belongings as well. art of the Bill of Rights that was added to the Constitution on December 15, 1791. It protects people from unlawful searches and seizures. This <strong>means</strong> that the police can't search you or your house without a warrant or probable cause. From the Constitution.<br><br>i agree because we shouldn't have a surprise search here and there just because one person said something's suspicious.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.<br><br>It stops you from being punished for a crime without evidence that you did it. "innocent until proven guilty" "I plead the 5th."&nbsp; because it protects us from having our rights abused by the government. ... The <strong>Fifth Amendment</strong> says that we cannot have our life, liberty, or property taken except by due process of law.<br><br>It's a good point but what if you're framed??&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense.<br><br>Basically, this states that we have the right to defend ourselves, be defended, and to confronted by the accuser, as well as our case be public and open for fairness.&nbsp; the right to a <strong>public</strong> trial without unnecessary delay, the right to a lawyer, the right to an impartial jury, and the right to know who your accusers are and the nature of the charges and evidence against you.<br><br>I agree with this as far as being defended and confronted. The public part varies for me, depending on the case. Some people might not want their case known. Others may want it super out there.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In Suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any Court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law. <br><br>You can't be tried twice for the same case without appealing your case and you get the automatic right to a jury and that can't be taken away. You can't go to court though for anything under $20. Congress proposed a revised version of the <strong>Seventh Amendment</strong> to the states on September 28, 1789, and by December 15, 1791, the necessary three-quarters of the states had <strong>ratified</strong> it.<br><br>I agree because $20 isn't much anyway, so suing someone for anything less than that is pointless and a waste of time for the judge.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.<br><br>A judge can't give a man accused of robbery the death sentence just because. He has to give a logical punishment for that community or society he's in and he has to follow through with it but they have some leverage as far as finding context in the crime and punishing for that specific case. it protects the individual from excessive bail or fines, and from "cruel and unusual punishments."<br><br>This protects people from harsh punishments for minor crimes or things that don't deserve severe consequences, and i agree with it as well.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <title>Amendment 27</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>No law, varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives, shall take effect, until an election of representatives shall have intervened.</div><div><br>The president, and no one else has complete law making power to themselves. First proposed in 1789 as part of the Bill of Rights, the stipulation concerning congressional pay was all but forgotten after it failed to win the necessary support from the states. The <strong>27th amendment</strong> is unique in that it took nearly 200 years since it was proposed to actually be <strong>ratified</strong>by the states. The <strong>27th amendment</strong> deals with pay raises or decreases for members of Congress. Changes to Congressional pay must take effect after the next term of office for the representatives.<br><br>It's the 3 branches of government in a sense, balanced. It's a good amendment.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude<br><br>Everyone has the right to vote, no matter what or who they are (as humans).&nbsp;<br>This amendment was adopted 5 years after the civil war to represent more equality rights. <br><br>They only get one vote still, and you don't have to vote so i strongly agree with this amendment.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
