"Hi everyone! I’m Anthony, a student here at MATC. At 50, I’m back in school, focusing on business and project management to build a strong foundation for the next chapter of my career. I grew up in the Historic Pilsen neighborhood in the heart of Chicago, so I carry a lot of that culture and history with me here in Sun Prairie.

When I’m not studying, I’m a beginner electric guitarist. I’m a lefty and I’ve been using Rocksmith+ to learn on my Les Paul Custom electric guitar. I’m also a big Destiny 2 fan (Titan main!) on the PS5. I’m a firearms enthusiast, and I live here with my wife, two beautiful daughters, and our crazy two dogs, a Great Dane and a Husky. You’ll often find me outdoors, weather permitting, riding around on motorcycles.

Three words that describe me would be driven, empathetic and fun! I currently work in healthcare operations, where leadership, change, and team culture are part of my everyday life. I’m especially interested in leadership models that actually work in the real world, not just in theory. I have three great kids and two slobbery dogs.

This is my last semester studying Human Resources Management, and I am both sad and excited for it to be over.

My three takeaways from Kotter’s Eight Step Change Model are getting the vision right, empowering action, and creating short-term wins. When I think of managing my own business one day, these are the three main steps of Kotter’s change model that I will be thinking of frequently. 

I am happy to be in this class and hope everyone has a great semester.

After reviewing Kotter’s 8-Step Change Model and the video, my three biggest takeaways are:

First, change must start with urgency. People are more likely to support change when they understand why it matters and what happens if nothing changes.

Second, change is about people, not just plans. Building strong leadership support and communicating the vision clearly helps reduce fear and resistance.

Third, change has to be reinforced to last. Celebrating small wins and making new behaviors part of the culture keeps change from fading over time.

Overall, Kotter’s model shows that successful change requires clear communication, strong leadership, and ongoing support.

My name is Natalia. I have lived in Portage, Wisconsin, for more than 20 years. This year, I am celebrating my 15th year working at a medical company. I started in an entry‑level position and worked my way up to my current role as a metrology technician, where I create measurement systems for the products we manufacture. I am currently in my fourth year of the Business Management program at Madison College. In addition to working full‑time and attending school part‑time, I am also a mom of two daughters, who are now teenagers.

I just moved into a brand new home in Cottage Grove last weekend so balancing lots of change with a new house, HR Coordinator role, school, and a big blended family!

Change starts with urgency and trust

Kotter shows that leaders must build urgency and relationships before pushing change. People need to understand why change matters and feel included.

The right people matter more than titles

The guiding team should include people who buy in — and informal leaders, even skeptics. Real influence comes from trust, not job titles.

Change sticks through systems

Real change happens when it’s built into hiring, performance reviews, & rewards. Culture changes when systems change.

This is my last semester at Madison College! After receiving my HR Management Associates degree, I plan to transfer to UW-Madison to work on my Bachelor's.

Currently, when I'm not working or studying, I'm under a heated blanket watching the Great British Baking Show & eating Stroopwaffles with hot tea.

Hi everyone, my name is Omer.

Three words that describe me are people-oriented, calm, and fun.

I get along easily with people, I’m usually pretty relaxed, and I always try to be respectful and positive. So yes, I care about the respect.

I’m currently a Business Management student, and I’m in my third semester.

In my free time, I like going to the gym, watching movies and TV shows, traveling, and discovering new food places. I recently watched the Tv show called Severance. I think it was a weird but in good way..

I’m always open to trying new things and hearing recommendations, and I’m looking forward to learning from everyone in this class.

My three takeaways from Kotter’s 8 step change model include the “create short-term wins” section. I like the idea of having small small goals and working your way up to bigger and better ones. Building progressive successes and celebrating after each success no matter how big or small. I feel it will lead to more successes for everyone and actually make them want to succeed. In turn it will also make the people feel good and appreciated when celebrated. 

I also like the “Get the vision right” section. It's about communicating the vision to others. It helps others see the goals and makes them want the same thing because they can actually see how successful it will be. It can also be adjusted by others within your team and not solely on one person. Which will inspire people to work harder because they see it as their goal and idea as well and they want their goals to be successful. Which means they will put in the work. 

Lastly, I like the “Empower Action” section. I like this because it shows that you shouldn't be afraid to fire someone. Especially someone who is causing issues. It can be shown as proof that you are listening to your other employees complaints if they had issues with that certain someone. It also shows that you are taking everyone's thoughts into consideration and that you mean business. Meaning you care deeply about the work everyone is performing and want it to succeed.

The three words that best describe me are curious, strategic and straightforward.

I'm currently taking my last semester at Madison College for my Associate's degree in Business Management.

I am currently a vet assistant at an animal hospital. I own two cats of my own.

In my downtime, I like to spend time with family and friends, going to the zoo and exploring more of Wisconsin.

I earned an Associate’s degree in Finance from Madison College and I’m currently finishing my Business Management program. I plan to continue my education at UW Madison. I’m an Army veteran and currently work as a store manager for a rent to own company, where I focus on team leadership, operations, and customer solutions. I’m also a father of five, which motivates me to keep growing and building a strong future for my family.

I’m currently a student, and I’m working toward building a stable future for myself here in the U.S. A big part of my life right now is balancing school, responsibilities, and planning for what comes next.

I’d say I’m someone who likes to think things through and make careful decisions, especially when it comes to important life choices. At the same time, I’ve had to learn how to adapt to new situations and challenges, which has helped me grow a lot.

One thing I’d want people to know about me is that I’m always trying to improve and move forward, even when things are uncertain or stressful.
