I’m Anthony, a student here at MATC. At 50, I’m back in school, focusing on business and project management to build a strong foundation for the next chapter of my career. I grew up in the Historic Pilsen neighborhood in the heart of Chicago, so I carry a lot of that culture and history with me here in Sun Prairie.

When I’m not studying, I’m a beginner electric guitarist. I’m a lefty and I’ve been using Rocksmith+ to learn on my Les Paul Custom electric guitar. I’m also a big Destiny 2 fan (Titan main!) on the PS5. I’m a firearms enthusiast, and I live here with my wife, two beautiful daughters, and our crazy two dogs, a Great Dane and a Husky. You’ll often find me outdoors, weather permitting, riding around on motorcycles.

People are more likely to support change when they understand why it matters and what happens if nothing changes.

Second, change is about people, not just plans. Building strong leadership support and communicating the vision clearly helps reduce fear and resistance.

Third, change has to be reinforced to last. Celebrating small wins and making new behaviors part of the culture keeps change from fading over time.

Overall, Kotter’s model shows that successful change requires clear communication, strong leadership, and ongoing support.

Three words to describe me would be "hard-working," "family-oriented," and "determined." I started my pursuit of higher education in 2020, when I suddenly needed a career after a divorce. It has taken me a while, as I work full-time. But I will be graduating this May with my degree in Human Resource Management. I have 2 children. My son is 19, and my daughter is 22. And in fact, my daughter will be graduating 1 day after me with her bachelor’s in rehabilitation science from UW Oshkosh. I also have 2 dogs, a 14-year-old Havanese and a 5-year-old Black Lab. In my free time, I like to crochet, bake, and binge-watch TV. Oh, and I have to say, “GO BEARS!”

Keeping a plan and having ideas that are non negotiable stabilizes that teams future outcome. 3- Making change stick: The cementing of change has to come from strategic measures put in place for the future of the company. The important ones I saw in the summary, were hiring and rewards to keep things like the cultural climate and changes on track.

3 words to describe me are ambitious, blunt, and goal oriented. I work full time and go to school part time so it is taking a long time to complete my degree but I will be graduating in May of 2027. I have 2 dogs, Jack is 3 and Harley is 10 and I have a cat Bentley who is 8. My 3 key takeaways from Kotter's 8-step change model is communication, urgency and reinforcement. In my workplace, I've seen that change only works when leadership clearly explains why it's needed and stays involved throughout the process. Celebrating small wins helps to keep morale up and makes the change feel achievable. Without reinforcement, though, changes tend to fade and people fall back into old habits. 3 words that describe me best are resilient, dedicated and purpose-driven. I look forward to working with all of you this semester.

Hello, I am Emily McNabb. It might say Splinter in most places but it is now McNabb. Three words that describe me would be kind, easygoing, and creative. Some things you should know about me is that I love my animals with my whole heart! I have 4 animals right now including a dwarf bunny named Winston, a cat named Freya, a dog named Enzo, and another dog named Hera. I love spending time with them and my husband when I’m not working or doing school work.

My three takeaways from Kotter’s 8 step change model include the “create short-term wins” section. I like the idea of having small small goals and working your way up to bigger and better ones. Building progressive successes and celebrating after each success no matter how big or small. I feel it will lead to more successes for everyone and actually make them want to succeed. In turn it will also make the people feel good and appreciated when celebrated.

I also like the “Get the vision right” section. It's about communicating the vision to others. It helps others see the goals and makes them want the same thing because they can actually see how successful it will be. It can also be adjusted by others within your team and not solely on one person. Which will inspire people to work harder because they see it as their goal and idea as well and they want their goals to be successful. Which means they will put in the work.

Lastly, I like the “Empower Action” section. I like this because it shows that you shouldn't be afraid to fire someone. Especially someone who is causing issues. It can be shown as proof that you are listening to your other employees complaints if they had issues with that certain someone. It also shows that you are taking everyone's thoughts into consideration and that you mean business. Meaning you care deeply about the work everyone is performing and want it to succeed.

Hi everyone! My name is Zoey, and I am excited to be in this class! I am in my last semester of the Human Resource Management program, and I am eager to graduate this coming May. After graduation, I hope to land a role in either payroll, recruitment, or management. In my free time, I love to attend church, thrift at local thrift shops, go for coffee, and take long drives through the countryside. At home, I have two mini goldendoodles, Lainey and Penny - they are wonderful companions! Good luck to everyone this semester :)
