John F. Kennedy born on the 29 of May 1917. He is more commonly known as JFK, he was the 35th U.S. President. He was assassinated by an armed forced officer, named Lee Harvey Oswald on the 22nd of November, 1963. He was married to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and had four children Caroline Bouvier Kennedy, John Fitzgerald Kennedy Jr. and Patrick Bouvier Kennedy. He was assented while involved in a presidency parade with his wife and other presidential leaders and servers. "The first investigation into JFK’s death, known as the Warren Commission, concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald, acting alone, shot and killed President John F. Kennedy from the sixth floor of the Texas Book Depository in Dallas. It was implied that Oswald was very unstable at the time. Oswald, was a communist, he was very unhappy with the American social system and that’s why he decided to shoot president John F. Kennedy 1 (Danser, 2017). JFK was a leader who believed in equal rights for everyone, including black people. This was what lead to people not liking him, like many did. This was because of these views in which he had, meaning that many of the people who were strongly against black people rights would then not want to agree with him.

The people who were against JFK were those whom didn't like the idea of having black people equal to the white. These people were the ones who were all for white power. They didn't share the same beliefs that John F. Kennedy did. He did not hold black Americans in a lower regard based on their skin colour 2 (Ruprecht, 2017). This cost him because it took away a lot of the support that he had as president, because not everyong saw things the same way that the did and this meant people would turn this costing much of hi support and followers.

How Is JFK Truly Radical?

JFK was truly radical in the sense that he didn't discriminate against black people. In the time when JFK was running for president there was a lot of racism and unfair treatment of the coloured people. JFK's choice to be a friend to these people was one he made with great confidence and pride. His relaxed attitude towards people of color had a marked impact on the way Kennedy was viewed by people of colour 4 (Ruprecht, 2017).

How did JFK's work encourage a more open-minded view on situations?

President Kennedy, through his work encouraged people to have an open mind view by opening up peoples eyes to what the real problems were. As has been mentioned, JFK worked closely with the the black men and women 5. Some of JFK's work has been things like on Sept. 12, 1960, JFK stood up for his religion and made a speech about it, he prevented nuclear armageddon, by sending over an undercover U.S. spy plane which took pictures of nuclear bases and testing grounds in Cuba, he established a group called the Peace Corps, which were people who were sent over to other countries to help create peace in that country and with America and by finally setting the goal of putting man on the moon 6. These were some of the things that made people want to change their view as well because they saw that he was a man with lots of knowledge and they saw that he could run the country a lot better then some previous presidents.

How did JFK challenge the ‘status quo’, rather than holding onto power through violence?

He challenged the 'status quo' by becoming someone whom thousands looked up to and someone who changed millions of views on life. He did this by leading America to greatness when he treated everyone fairly and how they should have been treated. This was remarkable at the time Kennedy served and many of the people were not yet open to the idea of change but this didn't defeat John Kennedy and his effort. He tried with different groups and people and from different ways and this lead to the change of heart in many people which lead to the success of President Kennedy's missions and plans.

President Kennedy was someone who wanted and liked getting his way, but was never one to enforce these opinions upon others. Some ways in which he took risks for the wellbeing of others rather than risking others’ wellbeing was that he was the way he helped to make things better in a positive way with positive influences. He also did this because he put his presidency and his life at stake to include coloured people in life equally, this for him, someone of great power and authority meant that this could have been an extremely dangerous move.

The aspect that I have found the most inspiring about JFK would be his drive to keep going and peruse what he believed in even though many people saw that as wrong and didn't like him as much for doing that. I believe that he would have to be very strong to stay a stand up for what he believes when there was so much hate coming towards him for respect everyone and treating them all equally. I really aspire to be like JFK because he was in the end respected by all most everyone and he lived his life the way he wanted to, just like he aspired to be like his father. I don't feel that JFK’s world view has challenge mine as such, because it has aspects in it that I would want to have in my own worldview. I believe that learning about his worldview has helped me to grow mine and get better at respecting anyone no matter what. I really want to have worldview traits that are similar to JFK’s because JFK’s worldview as a whole is one that is great, but taking aspect from his and mine would make one that is much better for the world.
