I would emphasise that both parents and students should refrain from using Facebook or any other forms of online communication, or speak to one another, until the matter is resolved. If they continue to take matters into their own hands, external authorities (e.g. police) might be involved.

Although this is easier said than done, the student who replied to the comment and aggravated Alice' mother should also be present at the face-to-face mediation both to accept the consequences of her words, which may result in a severe disciplinary action but more importantly to apologise to Alice's mother and to Alice. 

A face-to-face mediation is ideal because it would allow the online miscommunication to be cleared up and for the issue to be resolved on the spot. I would also go to lengths to ensure that the DM or the security guard to be present in the room during this negotiation in order to deter any physical violence if the mediation goes out of hand.
