This quote relates to the mindset that Irena Sendler had because most people would be afraid to go against the Nazis (they can easily kill you). But Irena didn't let that fear control her, because she knew what they were doing was unjust.

1923-1930- Irena gets in trouble in school and college for trying to help her Jewish friends

1939- when Germans invaded Warsaw she began helping Jews by giving them food and water

1940- she started saving  the orphan children in the Warsaw Ghetto

She and her team made over 3,000  false documents to help Jewish families

1942- Organizes the work of smuggling Jews out of the ghetto and into safety.

1943- Gets arrested and sentenced to death, but escapes

1945-  Irena digs up the names of the rescued children(the names were stored in jars)and gives them to the Jewish Committee who tries to help families find each other.

The three high schoolers decided to show people who Irena Sendler is so they made a website, a motion picture, 375 presentations of Life in a Jar as well as an award-winning book. I provided the link about them because I just thought it was so amazing how not many people knew about Irena Sendler after how much she has helped the Jewish community.  I also believe these girls have the most information about her compared to any other website!

   When the Warsaw Ghetto was erected in 1940 the Ghetto was an area the size of New York’s Central Park and 450,000 Jewish people were forced into this area.
