This song is important to me because of the overall meaning and trend that has been surrounding it. With pictures of young girls with curly hair, transitioning to them as young adults. With the lyrics saying ‘don't you worry bout your curly hair’. The song resonates with me as a child who always wanted straight hair like her peers. As well as the lyrics, ‘write your story’, as I often wrote stories as a child.

It's one of my favorite songs to listen to when working as well as it lightens the mood. Filling the atmosphere with positive energy and light. The intro of the song aids with this as it's just a burst of joy.

As it perfectly describes my childhood into young adulthood. ‘Gotta love that afro hairdo’, is one of my favorite lyrics as it reminds me to love my curls no matter what. This song is essentially the little girl that continues to live within me. As whenever it’s played, the memories of me playing with my father replay. Like a record, never fading.

This song is important to me because a lot of the lyrics resonate with me. ‘My daddy says that life comes at you fast’, as when I was a child I didn’t listen when my parents said childhood goes by quickly. And yet, here I am, 13 years later wishing I could go back to childhood. As well as the lyrics, ‘my mother said ‘ ‘ don’t forget where you come from, where you’ve been’’. I have always been taught to be humble as everything could be taken in an instant.

No rainy days, ‘i only want good vibes round me tonight, no negativity in my life.’ Is the initial hook that got me to really like this song. I always play it when it starts to get warmer as it is a constant reminder that summer days are filled with fun. No negativity, only sunshine and happiness.
